JWE3 Confirmed and Suspected returning species at launch

Wouldn't expect any more variants than what was in JWE2 for returning species, given they're making males for each variant, and maybe juveniles.

It's more likely they're just cutting Frontier variants, like the Dreadnoughtus.

In the cases of Dreadnoughtus and Gigantosaurus, I prefer the movie versions over Frontier's own pre-movie versions.

About males for each variant, I have this notion in the case of Velociraptor. The 1993 Velociraptor is certainly female, whereas the 1997 Velociraptor can be male. When it comes to the 2001 Velociraptor, they should make this: the white one with spots should be female whereas the blue ones with quills on top of their heads should male.

They're dropping new species into Feature Focuses apparently:

Patagotitan? ...wow... that's... ehhhh... well... it's not just another solitary giant South American titanosaur that we didn't need... it's not even the one people were asking for... ... ...it's not gonna make them stop asking for Argentinosaurus, is it?

Sigh... BestinSlot seems to think the addition of Patagotitan confirms Alamosaurus is getting cut... ...which... ...ugh... ...compared to Patagotitan, Alamosaurus is at least vaguely unique (being the only North American titanosaur) and compatible with other animals like Torosaurus... making Patagotitan, from both a uniqueness perspective and a gameplay perspective, a complete downgrade...

Also, unless they're trying to escape or "jump" to a raised platform, the Quetzalcoatlus shouldn't be flying inside the aviary... ever...

I imagine you'd be among the few who actually liked the Dominion Gigantosaurus then... looked like they were trying to recreate the look of the Indominus, but make it more crocodilian... very, very movie monster looking...

Technically some difference in being the only large sauropod from the Early Cretaceous so far, but yeah, they could have slapped just about any large titanosaur name on it, and went for a more recently described one (it does seem to be the general trend).

As to Alamosaurus being cut, Evolution Square thinks so too. I don't think it's the sole determining factor, but yeah probably.

God I could not get over how adorable the ankylosaurus looks.

The mechanic of the kids following around their parents and other animals looks interesting. I would like to try making a large enclosure and see how herding has improved.

As for the Patagotitan, I like it. It does feel like a blend of Alamosaurus and the Rebirth Titanosaurus in terms of design, but I like how the end result looks, as the spikes and ornaments are not as drastic as on the alamosaurus.

I am on the camp in that nothing is confirmed until revealed or once the game launches. Alamosaurus could indeed get cut, remain as is, or get a model update in the new game, we just have to wait and see. I barely use it in JWE2 due to how far away it is in the research tree.

This does make me take back my assumption that it could be a redesigned JWE Dreadnoughtus, and now I am curious if this species will act as a south American titanosaur alternative to the dominion dreadnoughtus. I am waiting to see if we see any of the Frontier designs for the recently canon designs returning like the dread, orano, giga, and potentially pachy and sucho.

I could be wrong, but the more I think about it, it could mean that the patagotitan will take place of the Frontier dreadnoughtus.

It’s a south American Titanosaur that does share a similar body style to frontier’s dread. It could be that they have updated the model, but instead of making them variants, they went the extra mile and made it a separate species altogether. I am eager to see, but it could be that the movie dreadnoughtus is the only dreadnoughtus we will get in JWE3. Again I could be wrong, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Frontier decided to make the updated dread a different South American titanosaur altogether.

Now I want to make an educated guess that there may be a new dinosaur that could be added by a similar philosophy… Mapusaurus.

If Patagonian is the reworked Frontier Dreadnoughtus, there might be a chance Giganotosaurus would get a similar treatment. Giga besides the dread have variants that are strikingly different from one another. If Frontier decided to not scrap the non-Dominion design and made it it’s own species too, then there may be another South American carnivore, Mapusaurus, as the Frontier design could very well fit that mold.

This is a theory of mine, but it would be really interesting to see if it hold any ground and we do get new species in place of non-cannon variants.

In the latest "Feature Focus" of Jurassic World: Evolution 3, the Patagotitan is revealed. Shall we say it is the largest sauropod ever known in the world? I am empty on this species.

I think we have enough titanosaur-type sauropods since we have Dreadnoughtus, Alamosaurus, Titanosaurus, and Patagotitan. It is a question whether Alamosaurus is being cut or not.
