Bear with me on this, but this is only the third CG I have participated in.
So why is it not good news that they have added a couple more tiers? Doesn't it just mean that we will get more credits rewards as the tiers are reached?
Is it because maybe we'd hoped that the CG would end early so we can get our rewards faster, but isn't that like asking a seller on a 'well-known Internet auction site' to end his listing early so that my bid will win?
When I signed up for this CG, I knew it would last for four weeks. I knew what I was signing up for. Why should that be a problem? As far as I can see, it just means more credits for everyone.
Or am I missing something? I stand fully ready to be corrected!![]()
This is a reasonable reply. There's a general sentiment around here that in earlier years CGs were more dynamic--i.e. player actions had more bearing on outcomes, and outcomes had more bearing on the overall story direction of the game. Unexpected disruptions were possible. These more recent CGs are not so dynamic in those ways, and some folks find it irritating when FDev has to intervene directly to keep them going for the projected time period. Because exclusive modules are often a reward for hitting a certain tier threshold, that adds a feeling of FOMO on top of an activity that a lot of players feel is an unrewarding grind. I like the grind (Elite is in many ways a grind game), and I don't think every event needs to be rife with plot intrigue, but that's my read of the room.
Worth noting that "bad news" or "good news" is just an opinion
