New (new) ship teased - Type-11 Prospector

I don't care for mapped mining, and I don't laser mine. I core mine, and I dare to say I am good at it - on average I crack a core every six minutes. And I like that it actually takes skill - one of the few non combat activities that does. Yes, this is a git gud post (core mining is the only thing in the game I am actually gud at). Core mining doesn't need to be watered down to the level of laser mining.
i have still yet to blow a rock up outside of beta i think. its not that i dont want to but i have a real issue spotting them. for the longest of times it was broken in VR as well... i think it may be fixed now.

It's been broken for a relatively short time when the PWA was firing backwards, I remember. But it's been working fine for quite some time.

Spotting the rocks is not that hard. Use an A-rated PWA for the range and only inspect the ones that keep glowing the brightest yellow even when you get closer. Some are bright yellow at a distance but fade when you get closer - ignore those.

Every ring type has only one rock shape that contains cores. Learn those. A bright yellow one that doesn't match the shape can be ignored. If you think you got one, get close and look at it - you can see the fissure on the surface, it looks a bit like the vintage LucasArts logo. Only then waste time and a limpet on prospecting.

Doing it in VR is a bit of an advantage because it is easier to survey the surroundings. Guess VR is pay to win too 😁

I'd say the round port is the SRV bay, the large square patch behind it looks like an SLF hangar door.

In this case it wouldn't be a very large ship, it would be comparable with the Krait, so either a medium or a very small large (maybe due to it's width).

We've had the FdL killer (somewhat), the Krait Phantom killer, the Python killer, the small ships killer, the Cutter/T9 killer. Time for the Krait MKII killer?
Definately a large ship , FDev stated the next 3 (including the Panther Clipper) were going to be large ships.

Nope, they've already announced on Twitter X that they will reveal the ship. Although I do not expect much more than the name, concept art and possible unique feature it may or may not have. Same procedure as usual.
Which will precede or follow the Vanguards info both of which will leave me quite enthusiastic however the extensive analysis of both here on the forums will cure me of that.

It was on one of the streams end of last year. Arthur said the medium lineup was complete for now. That leaves room for large and small this year, but considering that the new ship seems to have a fighter bay, it's certainly not small.
I think this might be being read too much into – are you talking about when he was asked why they were adding a new medium multi-role in the Corsair, and answered by reference to how the Py2, Mandalay and Type-8 are medium ships of different main roles and then "This sort of rounds out that final medium category"?

If it's that, it's not clear that that's a commitment to no more medium ships in 2025... and as you say yourself, it wouldn't be a commitment to only large ships for the rest of the year. I'm wondering if there's too much drift between what FDev are saying and what we're hearing.

Of course, I could have the wrong clip for your source (I've got 1:00:00 in the February Frontier Unlocked as my guess of what you're describing), and Wullail's source could be something entirely different, so lemme' know?

You got what I was referring to. If it was said elsewhere, I'm not aware.

Do you have a source for that?

That's how I remember things also...

... but, as they are now charging more Arghs for large ships
