Planet Zoo 2: 200 Animal Species Meta-Wishlist

Has anyone an easy to copy list that I could use for this to delete the ones I wouldn't need for the base game and replace with new base game ones?

I obviously still don't expect or want all animals we have now to return in base game AND 200 or even 50 on top.

You mean a list of all of our current roster?

Honestly, I would love to see all 200ish current species return, maybe a few subspecies made into color variants like the Arctic and timber wolf folded into the wolf. They did it with Jurassic World Evolution 2 and now 3, I see no reason for not doing the the same for Planet Zoo 2. Waiting to make a list for this anyway, I'm pretty sure even if there's no more packs they'll add something for the anniversary.

Edit: In case anyone at Frontier reads this, what I want more than anything for the next game is stability in large all-encompassing zoos, because it doesn't matter how many different species are available if the game can't handle them all without blurry textures and huge fps drops.

I don't really know. If the thread is about the 200 animals we want to see in the game, we all should post that, not the 200 additional new animals we would like to see in addition to the 210 already in-game. Of course the people in charge of counting aren't responsible if other people decide to change the rules. I'm just pointing that we are mixing different realities here and therefore the resulting list is not going to be an accurate representation of what we want, which is really a pity.
This was discussed at length before making the list and there really is no good answer here because if we make the assumption that all will return then it immediately biases what we want to see and the reality of the situation but you are also correct if we allow for either then some people are going to gravitate towards new because its new assuming all animals will return.
I think splitting the lists will cause more problems than it will solve and forcing people to pick half and half is not ideal.
Just a couple of questions before I go over my list from another thread and clean up some of the species - African and Indian/Asian elephants would count as separate species correct? What about Grizzly and Eurasian Brown Bears? Sorry, I'm a bit dumb on some of the taxonomical breakdowns. i'm already going to have to remove one tiger so I want to go through the cleanup just one time if possible. I think I'm good on all of the other breakdowns but just checking on those two.
best way is to look up animals your unsure about and check, wikipedia while not a great source generally is a really easy to read source with the species name usually in bold in the first line and will be sufficient information for this list. A species is only 2 parts a subspecies is 3.
General rule for figuring out is something might be a subspecies is that most people wont know about subspecies unless your looking at carnivores or megafauna with a few exceptions. Things local to you are more likley to be known by the local subspecies name and things with really long or specific names have higher chances of being subspecies.

I have It (But as an Excel doc.). Can I send it to you?
I appreciate, but I just ound out the other day that I actually already did the work myself months ago for tracking which species I already build for :ROFLMAO: Just need to find the time and motivation now to do the list (and come up with flying birds, which would be the main challenge for me personally.

I'm trying to do a list and it's way harder than I thought it would be. Like a lot of people I suppose, I have a lot of ideas of species that we don't have in PZ1 and I want to see in PZ2 but it's difficult to find enough species to eliminate from PZ1 roster... I mean I don't like all of them but most are essential for a zoo game. Also, I'm not quite sure if I understand some of the rules? We can't vote for both Bengal and Siberian Tiger, we have to vote for Tiger in general? But for the wolves we can vote for grey wold and arctic wolf separately? I'm asking because in my head Bengal and Siberian tigers are 2 completely different species. Same for the wovles.

Edit: nevermind, I indeed didn't understand and I officially know that bengal and siberian tigers are the same species and same for grey and arctic wolf.

To save me some headache what i did was list all the animals that will FOR SURE be in a zoo game: elephants, giraffe, zebra, lion, tiger, leopard, sea lion, kangaroo, koala, giant panda, brown bear, grey wolf, gorilla, chimpanzee, etc. and remove them so to make space in my list. That saves you quite a lot of space. Is not that i don't want this species is just that voting for them is wasting votes since there is no way that a proper zoo game would exist without them.

yeah there's like 10 types of animals that I would consider MUST be in a zoo game...pretty standard and any zoo game that doesn't include all of them is pretty much a failure. You mentioned most of the with the Elephant, Giraffe, Zebra, Lion, Tiger, Giant Panda, Gorilla and Chimpanzee; I'd also add in a Rhino and the Hippopotamus. Second tier of "pretty much have to have" are the Wolf, Brown Bear, Peafowl, Flamingo, Ostrich, Warthog, Cheetah, Hyena, Kangaroo, Meerkat, Moose, Cougar, Jaguar, Capybara, Emu Koala, Ringtail Lemur, Orangutan, Penguin and Polar Bear. Frontier didn't include all of those at launch but all but the Meerkat, Moose, Capybara, Emu and Cougar were in by the end of 2020.

That's pretty much the most essential 30 animals that should almost certainly be locks and show up on pretty much every list. Especially the first 10; it's not a game that can be taken seriously as a zoo game without elephants or lions for example.

Yeah I understand, I'm just not sure my brain will allow me to do so 😂 I feel like I need to write every species I want, even those who will obviously be in the base game...
But I took some time to think and I have a suggestion to make even though I'm pretty sure it won't lead to any change.

I think that a wishlist of 200 species, although already substantial, is not enough. Let me explain.
We almost all agree that we want to see most of the species present in PZ1 transferred to PZ2. However, PZ1 already contains 210 species, including 167 habitat species, 34 exhibit species and 9 WTE species (if I have counted correctly). Given that many people will find it difficult to sacrifice species already present in PZ1, it may be difficult to establish a list limited to 200 containing habitat AND exhibit species. At least, that's where I'm struggling.

My feeling is that we should make two separate wishlists, one for "large" animals living in habitat and another for small animals living in exhibits. People could submit a list of 100-200 habitat species + a list of 50-100 exhibit species that they want in game. That way we would have space to keep most of PZ1 species and we have room to add others. However, a problem remains. We don't know how exhibits will work in PZ2. We don't know if WTE will still be there or not. That's why, even in PZ1, I usually consider the WTE species as habitat species 😅

Anyway, I'm not the one creating and managing these meta-wishlists so it's definitely easier to say than to do. It's just a suggestion. In the absence of change, I will probably submit a wishlit containing only what I'd consider habitat species.
