Already have 50million credits

Yay, I guessed what the bug was (but I was not able to test it since I don't have the explorer cobra package).

On a possibly related note, has anyone tried what happens if you replace a module in a kickstarter reward ship, then crash the ship and don't pay for the replacement of that module. Do you get the original module back, or will it be an empty slot, or a lower spec loaner module?

I'm certainly curious but don't want to kniw until it's fixed.

+1

I know myself: I would be in risk of getting bored of this awesome game if I suddenly had loads of millions to try the bigger ships out from scratch... don't spoil the game for yourselves, commanders!
It's good fun to work it up from the bottom, including your reputations and ranks.. it's all about the voyage and the experience, it's not like there is a finish line at the end of the race... ED is no race...

There is a video of it in the first post. I reset my save so I cannot put any pictures up now
I think it's interesting that you were not caught, that you had to reset on your OWN.
You would think that in a 'test' environment, were you found a bug and made millions of credits on it, they would not only patch the exploit (Which they did) but ALSO test resetting an exploiters account back to square one (or locking it) and maybe sending you a test e-mail notifying you that they believe an exploit has been found, yadda, yadda.
Your situation was an outlier and should have immediately flagged your account and set it back or locked it.
They didn't do anything as far as I can tell with you at least.
Should be interesting when it's live vs. test..

I was thinking that it would surely be fairly easy to have a daily validation test on the account database, something along the lines of if daily credit gain > than x amount pull the player's log for evaluation. If exploit - take action.

Exactly!
A couple of friends who did a lot of Beta testing for companies (STO, POTBS, LOTRO, etc..) back in the day would find exploits/cheats and would report them and not only were the exploits/cheats shut down they would get their accounts rolled back (remember it was testing and thus gonna be wiped anyways) and they would get e-mails, etc..
One guy had his account test locked.
Just wondering why it didn't happen in this case is all..
Meh, at this point, who cares..

Well, this is the kind of mentality beta testers SHOULD have. I see so many people complaining about wipes. These are people who thought the game was finished before it was finished. I guess I can kinda understand if they bought into the rumor-mill and believed the myths that were being spread around about headstarts and "no wipes after gamma", but I never saw anything from the dev team to even suggest this, it all came from random people bearing false witness. Rumor mills are bad. It's not a pre-release demo, it's a beta test. The "game" here isn't to grind your way up to an iron-ass and a billion credits, it's to see how many bugs/exploits/crashes you can find and report. That's constructive. Complaining about everything under the sun (and light-years to one side or the other) is not. I guess maybe it's unrealistic to have these expectations of people.

No, you paid more for a beta test.

If you want a fully fledged game, then you should wait until release.
