Is there only one station or more? I'm currently trading at a system where 3 stations are close together (<100Ls) but they're 120.000Ls away from the entry point. I can carry gold from one station to another for 1400cr/t profit. Nobody wants to go there according to the GalNet so the market is stable and gives me good profit ;)

Hutton station was always a dive. You only took a job to it once in your career - there was another one like that almost as annoying near Arcturus back in the day

Hutton terminal - Alpha Centauri

Longest and most boring trip of my life.
I've been flying for 20 mins now and I am still flying.
It's 0,24LY from the point you get in by jumping into the system.

I understand travelling is part of the game but this is just not fun, not immersive, nothing...
I am browsing the internet and making this thread in the mean time because there is really nothing else to do.

I met a couple of unknown signals on the way but I didn't even stop when I saw how long it was gonna take me to get there...

Change something... or put it closer :|

Alpha Centari hutton orbital bug

Found this bug I entered Alpha centari trying to get to sutton orbital but distance is too great I cannot jump to it and the distance is 0.22Ly and its a 2 day flight so this distance needs to be shortened of the ability to just a small distance

UPDATE: the speed kept going up but the timer of the ETA slowed down to 47 minutes (real time) so i just quit.
I'll lose the mission and probably gonna get a fine.

I hope that there is at least something special there for those who can spend so much of their time to get there.

Most of the time you wont have to travel that far, so just avoid that station, check on the system map first before you go anywhere you dont know.
1AU =~ 480LS iirc

there you have something like 12k AU to travel!

i've been there. there's nothing special except for a nice looking bright pink star. the station is just like any other. took me about an hour. my max speed was around 1835c. by the way, if you stop at the unknown signal source, when you get back into super cruise you can carry onwith the speed you were at.

It's not bug. It's from old Elite games, Distance to station i AC was almost same so even in 4x time it took about 5-10 min to fly there :)

Have been avoiding anything to do with Alpha Centuri.....

Just took a job to 36 Ophiuchi..... Station is 0.14LY away..... 10 minutes in and that hasn't changed.... time to put a film on while I wait... :)



Please FD, put the Nav Beacons closer to where the population actually is!

on the old system yes, but this new one I cant be expected to take a day to get there. They just havent thought this new version out properly, it could do with an in system jump

Space is BIG. Really BIG. Really really BIG.

Sometimes it takes a long time to travel a BIG distance across space. Don't want to do that? Then don't try and fly out to a Space Station that you knew was a long way out. That's easy to understand.

remember that the time to target is calculated based on your current speed, in supercruise I've topped out at over 2000 C and once you hit that speed the time to target drops significantly.

i think you'll find that if you jump into SC and hit full throttle it will take a maximum of half hour to get there, more than likely a lot less.

[Joke]besides, there are bound to be issues in that system - its an Alpha! [/joke]
