Gamma 2.00 oculus specific fixes

Wow, Gamma 2 is showing far crisper graphics for me, good job FD, keep it up.

So it was not my imagination then! My instant reaction was this as well. 0.4.4 did some changes to warping anti-aliasing, so perhaps they leveraged that and/or did some tweaks to rendering for the Rift. Either way, big improvement in crispness. First impression is that it is smoother and has slightly less latency as well (not that there was any latency to complain about before either).

Well - one thing I noticed is that mouse controlls work absolutely smoothly now in the galaxy map. Also, clicking on anything on my screens doesn't minimize the game anymore :).

+1 from me. Looks stunning, some nice new little touches (tho my ship still is not drawn at the back and i cant see my skins etc)

but performance is certainly up, eyecandy is up, and am on full. performance was flawless but not been in asteroid belt yet.

all in all tho a very tasty update, and 90mins without a single hitch at all on launch night.....

ohh i will say, direct mode still locked in 60hz for me, so still using extended.

- Increase the timer for "revert to settings" when enabling/disabling Rift Mode

Thank the lords.. I barely had enough time to look at the screen -> rift or vice versa

- When using oculus rift with supercruise the positional shift of the player's head can clip through seat fixed

I wonder if this means that the Rift is attached to the avatar's body now? Or is it just that the chair now has camera collision (ie: The camera can still go "off the shoulders")

Did they finally get rid of the "acceleration/deceleration" movement of the entire cockpit when using Rift? That is bloody annoying... fine on a monitor but so irritating under VR.

The inside of the stations is 100x better but I am finding the text on the HUD to be very pixelated, more so than Gamma 1.5 - does anyone else get this?

It is so nice to see that thjey don't treat the rift as a side project. Gotta love the frequent patches for our dev kits.

Yay for clickable planets in the galaxy map!

now we just need an on screen keyboard for searching on the galaxy map :)

That would be cool. In the mean time, I made a Voiceattack profile with all the phonetic alphabet, numbers and a space and backspace key so I can type in the boxes. Takes longer than a keyboard but better than removing the dk2 for me.

- Fix for occasional startup crashes caused by the Oculus message activities trying to open the dialog box movie when it is not yet loaded
- Fix Station Services menu losing focus when looking at the Comms Pannel with Oculus Rift
- When using oculus rift with supercruise the positional shift of the player's head can clip through seat fixed
- Loading screen spinning ship is missing from one eye of Oculus Rift fixed
- System map/Oculus Rift: Ensure the camera, which has a different range of distances from stars and planets when using Oculus Rift, can never get too close to them, by taking into account the maximum radius of the miniatures
- System map/Oculus Rift: When calculating the range of distances for the camera, take into account the playspace, since the user can always stand up and move forward. This takes the camera even further away by default, but makes sure we won't get any clipping with stars when using Oculus Rift
- System Map: Don't try to use the Oculus service to refine the dolly range if it is not available
- Oculus - Having the station services open blocks your view of the comms panel, so don't focus on it when looking at it
- Unable to use the UI focus button on pad or keyboard after unplugging the Oculus fixed
- Charging bar and countdown HUD elements on cockpits moved to the correct position for Oculus
- Updating Oculus SDK to version 0.4.4
- Increase the timer for "revert to settings" when enabling/disabling Rift Mode
- Prevent Side Panels disappearing when using Rift, when leaning in too close

Best devs in the world:)

Gamma 2.0 installed. Kept locking on the spinning ship thereafter in extended mode. Going to try a restart and see if it fixes. Fingers crossed!
Yes same here I really want to see the improvements for the OR on 2.00. I going to have to wait until they fix this problem hopefully later today now

also had to reboot after update to get everything running. I had a black square in center of my view after update (same as station menu but I started in space!)

After reboot everything works perfect for me. Didn't tax performance but it seems very smooth, best thing thou was realizing that I didn't touch the oculus reset button in an hour of playing, thanks developers! :)

Also shot down my first adder, nice ship, tough as nails!

YES! They finally removed it, now the experience is much more comfortable. Thanks Frontier!!!

nice :)
shame my headphones don't have a mic

I tried that already from 1.06, but military alphabet is more reliable, for those ho speak bad English :D
Don't see the time to get back home and try all this!!
