Sorry to hear that terrible news. A remake of Elite was also a childhood dream of mine. Glad you are enjoying get as much as me.

I left the house for work at 0450 this morning, got back somewhat tired tonight but absolutely had to do the upgrade and a quick trading run to check out the state of release.

I have to say congratulations to the entire FD team, it is looking great!
Can't wait to get stuck in now.

All I'll say is the 20 year wait was well worth it. You have created the game I have always wanted. Thank you Frontier, you have made this Commander a very happy person.

Same here. I thought they had said at the launch event in November that they had surprises for launch? And now all we got was this tiny announcement thread not even in the announcements forum? Lol!

But seriously, Congratulations.

I had not even heard of Elite, until some months ago Elite: Dangerous had popped up on my radar. About a week after many umms & ahhhs over reading up and watching videos, I jumped into Premium Beta, and did not find myself disappointed.

I may not have the memories of the original game that many on here recollect with such fondness. But as apart of the newer generation of Elite players, I am happy to share this awesome experience that I am absolutely sure we will be enjoying for many more years to come.

Congrats to all of the FD Team, you've had a successful launch and have built a brilliant game. I'm looking forward to what the future holds.

Its a fabulous game, in fact the only PC game I own. And it's just as thrilling as the one I played in 1984. Just had a play for a bit and I was literally on the edge of my seat..
Space doesn't seem so empty tonight.

Anyway, about my ticket.......
