I love FD I love the game But its missing something.... oh wait its missing missions and events that bring players together and carrier battles oh and NPC conversations where we can actually talk to them from a preset list of options ,what else hrmmmmm.. oh its missing thargoids and its missing the big events that we were supposed to get on release all I see is a small news clip about a system and some slaves wayyyy out there... what about the rest of the universe NO STORY for the rest of us??? don't get me wrong the basis of a great game is here but it needs SO MUCH MORE... please FD heed my call for content and Inject some real events and real battles into the game and not just in 1 system of a whole universe.

I want to fight in a fleet battle where only 1 side wins not a warzone that has NPC spawning for eternity I want to see other players fighting for the other side that I can attack and kill, I want them to drop cargo when their ship goes pop:) I want to get missions to jump into said carrier battle and my MISSION/objective is to destroy the enemy capital ships shield generator and then attack the thrusters or weapons all while stopping other players doing this to our capital ship(as a military mission that I can get at a certain rank).

Criticism is welcome I'm a total fan of the original and Frontier Elite II and this modern version still hasn't quite caught the magic of the original if you aree with this post rep me if you disagree rep me anyway for having a valid opinion :)

Here's to hoping we get some big content in the pipeline soon...Keep up the good work FD but a looong way to go yet

It's been less than 24 hours. How about exercising some patience?

Everyone has been patient for the release, thats when the story was supposed to start. Saying "wait a few more months, maybe itll happen" doesn't really cut it sorry. It was supposed to be there on release, its not, making the game an empty shell filled with nothing but time sinks.

I'm going to assume they might be holding those for when the new players are more comfortable with the game, after all, they want to be a part of these events as well. Right now they're learning to fly and shoot and land, give them time to catch up and i'm sure we'll see some proper events.

Oh boy, I'm getting my popcorn out for this one.

Tharigolds are coming. An actual story line where your locked into a progressive mission. Who knows..... But if we have serious cult opposition against a 3rd person camera, I doubt you'll see all your asking for. People even want chat and that's met with opposition.

what so waiting a day for them to do something when they're dealing with releasing the game

barely even a day

You've got to be kidding right?

Its the friggen release of the official game, it should have been in on release, but I guess that's expecting too much.

I guess the first person element that was "hinted" in the short promo video was just smoke and mirrors too.

My buddies told me while I was at work that there appears to be no difference between Gamma and Release ... I guess they weren't kidding.

If you meant big story *missions* then no. You get mission *related* to big story here and there. They are popping up in news feeds, and then you can get missions. You won't get 'kill this big story senator' mission. You will be able though if such attack succeeds or not.

FD has been saying storyline is rolled out at release. This story line will generate lot of interesting missions, which you can already get in stations.

There won't be huge impact story line missions for individual person.

Stories HAVE started.

I went to the slave rebellion yesterday and there where lots of commanders flying around there engaging in the war zones. I quickly realized my ship wasn't up for the job though at the moment so I bravely ran away. As for the "major events I suspect this will often by "pure chance" happen during weekends so that as many people as possible can take part in them.

The story: The slaves are all hopped up on "onionhead" and it has given them super human strength.. They will, shortly, take over one of the Imperial capital ships.. Then, the will proceed to kill the emperor and try to take over them empire, inciting war with the Alliance and Federation in an all out attempt at galactic domination... Meanwhile.. The Feds have designed their own genetically altered "super drug" known only as "chiveface" that is eve more effective.. But only when taken with coffee from Any Na.. Which, do to lazy coffee grinders, is in short supply.

The Alliance takes a different route and decides to hold a charitable weenie roast in hopes of inciting peace... The slaves however.. ARE VEGAN!!!

To be continued....

As you say in the thread title. Unfolding. The key to great drama is to start small and build. The emperor is sick and there's a slave revolution going on. It's easy to see how this could unfold into a huge war.

The story right now is that I will help the empire to get rid of those slave liberating hippies, and bring order to the galaxy. Good enough for me :p

Sorbago is where it is at right now. Join the fight to stop the slave revolt and help the empire establish control once more.

Pretty certain that whilst you may want to have a mission to assassinate a senator or work with a carrier group; there's no way youre going to be trusted without earning the reputation and faction respect.

Now, unless youve done that in 24hours, then go and build up a faction relationship and a combat reputation and those juicier missions will come.

The story is in place. Little hints keep coming up on galnet. It is up to commanders to decide how they react to those hints. Decisions will have consequences. We make the story and the story is ours. I suspect that it isnt going to be bludgeoned into us... That just isnt the ED way

ok I will head to SORBAGO now in my new fitted cobra and see if there is actually anything different from the usual going on

The story is unfolding.

Also you do not want some massive event to start up right at the launch of the game, it is better to fix the bugs, and make sure everyone is able to play. Also you have new players that have just joined that need some time to get up to speed. Giving the player base a couple of days to settle in just makes sense. GW2 learned the hard way what can happen when you have a bunch of story events happening at the same time as major server problems, hell in the first year just about all of GW2's events were unplayable by many people. No one is saying months, heck no one is saying weeks, it will start up this week give it some time.

Although I'm paying attention to the "big story" I'm more interested in watching what the Pilot's Federation do in Shinrarta Dezhra. They just announced on the local feed that they're expanding in to a new system in the locality. I'm curious as to if this will be a whole new outpost or station, or if they'll take up residence in an existing station.

Regardless, this is the automated system at work and is the first taste of how our actions can and will shape the galaxy, regardless of the manually created storylines which FD will run.
