Roccat Power Grid

Is it possible to do a Docking Request with Power Grid? I am using a TrackIR so would have to disable that prior to any macros being sent then re-enable.

This is amazing. Seen some videos of this. But does this support remote between computers/PC-tablets with touch? I have a windows 8 tablet that runs the full OS. Is there any way to connect these like Teamviewer or something? That would make my simulator build so much easier!

A few minutes later. Figured I install an Android Emulator. I think it works! I could connect and everything.

EDIT: Today I successfully connected my Windows tablet to Roccat. It works great! So those people who either got small phones, or like me, a Windows Phone I have a solution for you :p

First I installed Andy, it's an android emulator, on the same PC I installed Roccat Power-Grid. It connected fine just by entering my IP. I did the same with the tablet and that didn't work. Power-Grid connects to LAN IP not external IP.

So at the start menu of your PC type "cmd", in the black window type "ipconfig" and you'll get lots of info. At the top of the results I got IPv4 Adress. . . . . . . . : 192.168blablabla that IP adress. I typed that in the android app I run in Andy on the tablet.

It works!

I will try make a cool interface for Elite and use that. This makes everything so easy and if you use it for keyboard commands this will work in every game. Flightsims got so much more awesome. Thanks for showing me this awesome software!

As a show of support just bought 3 tabs, which should come in handy in the future(when your software is updated to work on my iPad in IOS 8.XX)
Till then will use my Note 3 :D

Nice :) An update dropped last month for iOS compatability.

Just thought I'd add my vote to the ROCCAT love-in.

It took me a while to get my configuration (plus custom audio) set up, but now it's done I don't play Elite without it.

Whilst not essential it allows me to do seamlessly play ED whilst ignoring the keyboard and also controlling my iTunes 'random play' which accompanies my 'space-faring exploits'.

Current track 'Hello Earth' by Kate Bush... appropriate no?

Glad you are enjoying it. :)

I've got a Roccat mouse and keyboard, brilliant bits of kit...

Thanks very much. I work next door to the ID department, they'll be happy to hear that :)

A bit quiet of late from Roccat power grid central... must be deep in creating new features for the next big update to the host and app.

Sigh, as usual there isn't much I can tell you on this front. We are working on stuff, but details and timeframes I can't lock down. Still we are releasing grids every week and we have a guy dedicated to programming plug in grids that go beyond the normal functions that what can normally be achieved. You guys are still one of the most active communities we have, so thanks again for your support.

Happy to see the retail release happening :) TO celebrate I thought I would share the photoshop template we use for all our grids at the office. Might help anyone struggling with button sizes for images and the like. Remember you can flip the canvas horizontal to make landscape grids.

Thanks for dropping by. But with respect, wouldn't it be more prudent to focus development on the Android, IOS and host software for a good while to really address the issue of tablets and other new areas. There are a lot of grids now, some solid client and host development would be greatly appreciated. Pushing forward.

I dowload some of the grids to try it, but few of the items works.
I changed a lot of bindings keys, is it related?

You'd need to look at the binds used in the roccat editor and compare them to the binds you're using in ED, they need to be the same obviously for the function to work. I don't know what other people will have done but I know mine are a mix of default binds (L for lights for example) and reassigned binds

This is applicable to my interests. Thank you to all the grid developers here. You've introduced me to an awesome tool and provided some awesome customization for us.

its a great bit of software,, but to most people its just a gimc thingt ,, which they are quite right it is ,, why use external soruces , when you can use a keyboard,,

difference is , that you can see visually , and not have to remeeber which key you coded on the KB,, and its another gadget for me,, love gadgets

enjoy the software

Its also amazing for those who have built mini cockpits. Routing controls to alternate display devices is nearly impossible with most games. This kind of stuff makes it fun.

This looks great! And it's free? How are they making money?
Would love an iPad version.

Through making official 'grids' for their store. I am guessing this is why they are more focused lately on this, which has a side effect of slowing down the app clients and host development. I'm guessing of course. But there has been a lack of major patching and updates for the host and apps (android for me). When most if not all of us are now using tablets ranging in sixes up to 10inch, and the apps don't really support them that well. The grids and apps were meant for mobile phones and maybe small tablets at most. So the graphics look too odd, and there are way too few tablet options.

Powergrid has some fantastic potential and I fully support the devs, I just wish we'd see more core host and client forward development.

Hi everyone,

I am a multimedia generalist (designery type guy) and also a Beta backer of Elite, who found out about Roccat just last night and decided to try it with Elite Dangerous. There is now no going back for me, this is great, so I have created a grid very much in the style of the ED UI and font. Even nice little interference lines just like in the cockpit :)

If anyone wants to try this grid I am not sure how to upload to Roccat but you can get a hold of it the exchange file on my own server here, hopefully that is all that's needed:

I use a Hotas Flight X at the moment and like to have all combat controls at my fingertips, so there are no power options on the tablet/phone UI. I've always had an issue with not enough buttons on the stick but this solves the problem. If this is of any use to people, great.

I'm in the progress of creating a new combat tab:

The targeting of modules will work via a macro unless FD allow us to assign a specific key to each.

Here is the set that will be released soon once Ive worked out a few kinks:

Let me know what you think.

We wants it, we needs it. Must have the precious!

Hi Andrak, I bet you can tell me how to programme the Roccat Power Grid to use right control. I managed to get right shift and right alt working just by adding R in front of the function command, but it doesn't work for right control.

I go to Function/assign shortcut then chose shift and add the key press, then when that's done it will show "SHIFT+L" for example, then I just add an R in front for right shift, but it doesn't work for control, I can add the R ok but it won't work in game.

Any ideas?

Just rooted a £10 kobo to android to use power grid. For some reason I cant seem to get Elite to register the commands. Works in a browser (i.e. the letter l or E is displayed when a button is pressed) and in notepad but not in E:D. Anyone got any ideas?

- is my setup
- here is what it looks like on a rooted kobo (excuse the flash).

Finally - after months of waiting - my very cheap landfill android tablets eventually arrived in the mail yesterday. I planned on putting these behind my thrustmaster MFD's and having a bit of fun :)

Opened he box, plugged in the chargers, and both of the damn things don't work lol. Both chargers put out 5 volts. Then I tried USB cables from a PC - still nothing.

I took one apart to see just what could be wrong - and inside I found....

A rectangular block of solid aluminium. I was completely flabbergasted. Truly. I rechecked my order - having patiently waited for these things for ages - and to my complete and utter disbelief I had ordered display units. No wonder they were so cheap lol.

A quick trip to the local megamarket and five minutes later I have two RCA 7" quadcore tablets for well under $200 - which I should have just done in the first place.
