Be careful when popping off Noobies

You guys are too hysterical about n00bs and about this thing. Its not a big deal. Of course there is a fine line between killing someone and killing someone repeatedly (unless provoked), but this line is valid no matter how much n00bness is involved.

We're not hysterical - we're just choosing sides ;)

I for one will be keeping a closer lookout for Griefers and will take appropriate action with extreme prejudice where warranted. Anyway, a little Rep to the OP for reminding everyone that griefing is not acceptable behavior and will not be tolerated against n00bs, or anyone else...

What a lovely thought. I just posted something simular but this is so cool.

Some REP my dear friend. I have a Python if every needed :)

What I wouldn't give to have a fully loaded Anaconda lurking on the lee side of the station. LOL

I imagine the sight of a 'Conda spooling up the plasma cannon would put the fear of Karma in them. :D

I am a newbie, and I will remain a newbie for a veery loong time since I have time-consuming real-life commitments (job+health issues). So I will play solo. But When I get enough credits I will go open and keep an eye on newbie-popers. If I ever manage to put a few million credits aside and own a maxed cobra, I will take a stock sidee and come on griefers zones, shake my butt to them so they pop me, then take my cobra and come for a revisit.. ;)

Yes but shooting people at the station on their first day in a stock sidewinder is like kicking puppies - it's just not sporting. Those players will also need to live with the consequences that others in open play find that behaviour abhorrent and are prepared send their ship to recycling.

Let them shoot noobies if they want, but there're still getting the hard end of my boot if I see them.

Truly open game environments without restriction and real consequences to death tend to self-balance quite well.

It'll be a hard lesson to learn then, but they'll learn.

It's not quite the same impact as the guys in Cobra, ASPs and Pythons saying "Oi You No!" with laser fire. Once you get melted down in mere seconds you may rethink your actions next time.

...And if I"m playing Battlefield, I should not shoot the newbies standing in the doorway...yada yada yada. Dude, just play the game. Let's stop propping up these "rules" to soothe some moral predicament you are struggling with. It's a game. If a newbie clicks on "open" play, then they've made the decision that they want to be online with other human players. The choice is clear. So what happens if the newbie attacks you? Is that ok?

Again, this is just dumb. Play the game the way it was meant to be played, or go solo.

Baby seals are an highly concentrated source of essential nutrients to super predators....just sayin

Gj OP. Don't come to starter area because you will not find any action there. There's no newbs and definitely no any worthy opponents. We have so much PvP everywhere that nobody will be interested in what you said.

Good post, OP. Having played since beta I have plenty of experience to come and assist... oh hold on though, I can't hit a barn door at 20 paces!!

*Goes back to trading to try and by an indestructible ship one day*

:D

OP - good job! I'm going to be traveling for several days, but you've inspired me to take up a vigilante role for a bit in some of the starter system to help protect the innocent. If you don't mind, PM me the names of some of the starter system where you observe griefers (or list them on the forum) and I'll be there shortly. Could be fun to watch the griefers panic as they're hit by rail gun and cannon rounds whilst not showing up on radar.

Happy to report that Lawson Station in LHS 3447 is all quiet, been sat here maybe an hour, gave away some gold, scared off a few eagles when a viper said hello, good times :)

I personally can't see how people get kicks from popping of new players to the game, it's cheap sport that can ruin someones beginning experience on this game.
The funny thing is the first part of your sentence details you not knowing why they do it then in the second part of the sentence you lay out just one of the reasons why they do it!

"Noob poppers" (like that term!) are probably bored and just want to have some mindless fun at someone else's expense. The only thing to take from it is that it is almost certainly not personal and it could have been anyone. Watching them flee or get destroyed in a fair fight is quite satisfying I would imagine.

Id blow 100k in homing missiles and torpedos making sure people dont get in any cheap shots. Id love to see them run as 12 missiles and 2 torpedos fly at them. XD

I feel like the majority of veterans who actually have skill dont really care about PvP all the time. I dont mind it, but i only do it in defense.... Unless the bounty is 50k or more lol

I've been killing naughty noobs. They usually seem to have accumulated somewhere around 200-500 creds worth of parking tickets but surely I've been doing a good job keeping a system clean of double dockers and station litterers.. right?

2-500 creds is a bounty for an accident.. I always leave a ship if its had an accident..
its hardly sporting. 5000 is a kill bounty.. why not be nice and take the ones that deserve it out
leave the noobs alone.. you were a noob once

No, that's just cruel, I've killed one so far with a bounty of 12,500c, guy in an eagle, I felt he deserved it but I sometimes interdict the other ones & give them some cargo to pay off their fines. Maybe encourage them to keep playing if they get annoyed.
