Please make the game harder

But the rewards should be better for chancing the dangerous systems. Currently I can earn more money floating around a sector interdicting the elite cobras/pythons at 25-50k bounty a pop (takes like 2 mins to kill a ship in my viper). Sometimes I have ventured out to get kills in anarchy systems or taken those assassination missions for 150k but they take so long to track down the target I would have made twice that by the time I get it done.

Totally agree, and long distance trucking should be dangerous but rewarding, and smuggling as well. I hope as they add depth they up the difficulty as well.

The really cool thing about this is that it can be made so.

Imagine the Galnet being updated with "CMDR xxxx buys up all the <insert rare good> in the <system> and heads towards <system 2>". That would make rare trading a bit more interesting.

Yep agreed OP. Like for AI to use a bit more tactics. Most of the time i can sit in the middle and just keep the pitch following my target and boom him out of the sky. When they are a little more skilled they are better at keeping behind you, but i would like them to apply a little more sneaky/skilled tactics. I know its not easy to program human like AI, but im sure FD can improve it a bit. Low skilled ships should be easy though since they are "noobs". But i havent died since the start of gamma and ive taken on dangerous, deadly and master in my Eagle and Viper, and i dont think im very good tbh. Im average at best.

Yes, but traders would just go solo :( IMHO I think the solo play option is a mistake, or at least it should be one or the other with different saves for the two. I really hope that it comes to the point where we have large clans where the people who like fighting can escort traders through enemy space, this would literally be my dreams come true.

I don't know so much about this but I do think that systems should have vastly differing difficulties, so newbies or safers can stay in the harmless sectors but veterans and gamblers can chance the dangerous ones.

Also some pro missions might require you to go in to a dangerous Anarchy system and take out some pirates, maybe we'll even need to recruit a few extra commanders to help us as solo it is impossible.

This is what I want to see, otherwise what is the point of this game having multiplayer? Currently the only viable play style is solo PvE.

The problem is the AI dont actually shoot at you enough.

In my Python if i unleash 3 Class 3 beams on a Viper in PvP no amount of shield cell spamming will stop me getting through to the hull.

If the AI didnt just burst a few shots at you and then bug out it would be whole different ball game...

Yeah It would be cool if you got police, trader, intelligence, bounty news feeds as you rank up or something similar so PvP players have more awareness.

Yes true. Maybe making rares open-play only is the way forward. ;)

Of course the same kind of thing would have to apply to the other "careers" as well, but I'd be all for that.

You have to give me some tips with the money making at the current 140k haul I'll have the ship I want in a month. Just a hull mind you.

This is EXACTLY how Elite's difficulty should work.

- Spawn new pilots in safe system areas.

- Have Security Level shown clearly for every system, so that new pilots see it and understand it.

- Make LOW security level system really dangerous, even for good players with good ships.

Then sit back and let players manage their own difficulty level. :)

Sorted!

I'm glad some people share my vision and it's not just me. I retain hope. :)

No harm in tough love imo. The game shouldnt be made for players picking the game up for 5 mins, it should be made for those that invest hours into it. Do we really need to be treated like we are made of glass. Why are we so quick to get frustrated and throw the towel in. And we are so afraid of upsetting those that have zero patience.

They may not realise it but in the long run they get more satisfaction out of learning how to play, rather than the game being made without a need to learn.

If it was that easy I'd completely agree, but having played Eve for nine years, I have to disagree here.

Eve had a really annoying popup right in your face as soon as you were about to enter low sec. Had to be actively disabled with a checkbox and all that - and still people had the nerve to complain about how they've been "GREIFED" in lowsec on a daily basis.

The number of people inept at managing their own difficulty level is astonishing these days - can't really blame them when almost every game in the last two decades stuffs "You're the Chosen!!" down their throat no matter how bad they are...

Iron Man mode is coming for those that like punishment. I mean a harder game.

I'm not sure how that will change anything. Judging by the how many months can we go without dieing thread we are all technically playing iron man.:)

have you tried playing it with a cat on your lap, and your monitor turned off with bamboo strips pushed under your fingernails?

The impression I get is we want a challenge if we look for it (from npcs) I'm pretty sure as long as I can keep one dock, I could aggro the entire universe in ironman and do just fine.

If my survavbility is so assured I don't even have to think twice about engaging an supposedly superior craft it's not engaging, and it doesn't resemble reality at all. I should be able to joyride around with impunity in places, others should give me pause.

The biggest hazard to your health from my experience is Pilot Error! I'm sure many would agree they have died or almost due to their own hand, crashing, no clearance, too close to star or out of fuel. NPCs are not at that level, and they should actually be "Dangeorus".
