Police Brutality

There certainly is. It's called radar and this may sound insulting but that's because it's meant to be. Go back to EVE and hang out near Jita all day. You won't even be playing ELIte in a month from now so why even bother with the tears.

Send 500 million ISK now and I'll double it. Send 1 billion ISK now and I'll QUADRUPLE it! :D

Authority vessels still exist in Anarchy systems. I'm not sure this makes much semantic sense, but they still show up from time to time at Anarchy resource sites.

I knew as much as this, but I was only poking fun at the semantic sense, yes. Anarchy means to me that you or your group/gang are responsible for your health/welfare on your own. Any form of "police" would be self-declared.

They belong to the controlling faction in that system, check them out they will almost definitely belong to a pirate faction or a syndicate

As has been said you as a bounty hunter have no 'right' to be shooting at wanted ships, and if authority ships get involved you should get out of their way, if you decided to stay in the fight then watch your fire.

The AI shouldn't have the right to be that stupid.
They can't fly.
They can't shoot.
They certainly can't see anything.

When the AI flies like a limbless child, one can't ask the player to look after them on threat of bounty.

And this much you know about it.
They don't stop shooting.

How would you refer to the "I can damage them and then run away to get the Bounty"?

Errm, now that I reread my quote, I stated 'We'll' meaning (Us Commanders) and 'Last Shot' which I meant 'Kill Shot' for the bounty. Anyway, you know what I mean! :)

While i agree there are some mechanical issues here it also helps to look at it from a lore or real life perspective.

When the cops are around and there is a fight going on you are at best an obstruction or interloper, at worst an accomplice.

Dont get in the way of the cops. If he rams you tgen its because you were obstructing an officer in the line of his duty. If he hits you its because you were interfering in a police operation. If you hit him it is clearly assault with a deadly weapon and you will be arrested and subjected to deep cavitu inspection at best, more likely they will just blast you.

Dont blame the cops.

Didnt you know? Its a hard life being a cop.

It's still 10 seconds, so it's not completely free when it comes to the bigger ships.
It's a good system, but a bit too forgiving, as all it should do is give 100% sure last hits.
Could easily shed off 5 or 6 seconds from that, giving a 4 second window for the hit.
Easier last hits but harder to exploit.

Hell, even 2 seconds would be more than enough.

According ot this logic, firing a weapon should be illegal.

Bounty hunting happens to be legal trade in Elite and the police should re-read that memo, with the "instructions to fly" and "Things that damage your ship - manual"

Why do we need any seconds? It's a weird mechanic.
Because currently it is what FD sees as best.
Better would be starter systems for bad players.

Not to mention, Wanted Bounties flying around without shields?

And 'Clean' status Pirates pulling you out with no bounties in any systems, having no shields and minor weapons? (I could understand if this had some kinda flavor text saying: "You're my Initiation Kill into Piracy". or if you yourself had a bounty on your head.)

100% agree on the "NPC's Shouldn't be that stupid".

I've spent three weeks after the Gamma wipe running without shields, and the only real damage I've sustained is lag issues during docking, and the occasional, WHOOPS, that was alittle too much lateral thrust.

I have had 300k+ unclaimed bounties in differing factions for weeks, and realized that I lost them just last night because I died seconds away from dock when my life support ran out from a blown windscreen thanks to an Anaconda.

It seems like there are two types of NPCs:
1) Ones that shoot at you and you can kill easily. (Including the Law).
2) Anacondas who have slightly OP turn capabilities, who still aren't terrible if you have Shield Cells and some heavy weapon.

It's not feeling too 'Dangerous' when I realized that last night was my first death in about 100+ hours of play including Unshielded Bounty Hunting in an Eagle. :/ (I am not that good of a pilot to warrant that level of claim, but it's true).

Reminds me of a movie quote: "Do we suck that bad, or is he really that good?!?!?"

In the Current NPC Skill category, I'm afraid most of us just Suck Less. :/

I can not tell you how many times I will be fighting with a wanted fugitive and while I am shooting him down a Fed will fly right between me and my quarry. He takes one shot slaps me with a 100CR bounty.

I like this system, it makes you careful. I had this happen to me, but not more than once and I still fight alongside them. Just watch out for them and any other pilot for that matter.

Specially those.
The biggest problem in the game seems to be the AI, which flies to the sun and crashes on asteroids for fun.

Check the link in my signature for my suggestion on the difficulty problem. It's not well written but should give some sort of picture.

I would actually love to see police enter anarchy systems and just shoot anything that moved. That is what I call anarchy.

People misunderstand what the word anarchy is when talking about political idea's. Anarchy basically means the responsibility is on the shoulders of each and everyone when it comes to government and law enforcement. It's literal meaning is not the same and usually follows, which is political and social disorder due to the absence of governmental control.

Point being, there should be no police as that would defeat the point. It would be nice to see some coordinated retribution from the good citizens of said system though.

Edit: To add to that, the result of pirating in an Anarchy system should be much stronger in terms of lost rep with that system, much greater than in another government based system.

I kinda doubt, that if some country fell into anarchy, the leaders would just go "yeah, time for you guys go home instead of trying to keep even something safe"

They are there, but that doesn't mean they make a difference.

But in an anarchy system there is no government, no leaders. That is the very definition.

The video explains it better than I could, but this is what is meant by an anarchy system, rather than the literal meaning, for example, if one government fell from power and it turns into anarchy because no one can step up.

Edit: Ignore the rubbish at the beginning and go straight to the woman and cartoon.

That explains quite a lot.
