Elite Anacondas - Easy pickings?

I have an A4 Cobra completely tricked out, gimbal MC's all round and took out 5 or 6 Elite condas today along with some high ranked pythons and clippers.

The Conda's are easy pickings no matter what the load out their power plant is too vulnerable, pythons are harder and so are the clippers I'll be buying a python once I have the cash.

Condas should be made twice as tough v's a Tricked out Cobra, the python and clipper are perfect.

Viper with 2 x Beam Laser and 2 x Multi-Cannon. No shield cells and everything is B/C rating. I come in with twin chaff launchers firing to keep it's turrets from getting a perfect lock on me. Get behind it and just nuke it's shields. After that it's quite easy to target it's Power Plant and kill it with the cannons. Instant death when the plant reaches 0% health. They are annoying to deal with but not hard at all. I could do it even faster if I went with Rail Guns but I keep the cannons for little ships should I hunt them.

in my viper, sometimes anaconda can be a true pain, depending on there rank and weapons.

turreted beam for exemple is dangerous

If you need shield cells to take this ships down, you are doing something seriously wrong. They are certainly a viable way to reduce the amount of time it takes, but don't get in the habit of viewing them as a necessity.

Anyway, I find Elite Pythons and even Asps (especially the imperial types) more challenging than Anaconda. Anaconda are just too slow and lacking in maneuverability.

I posted my tactics on it, I rarely ever need a shield cell for it.
Even pointed to a streamer that does it regularly, did so tonight in fact, and didn't even use a shield cell.

They'd rather keep posting about how impossible and difficult it is and needing 2-3 shield cells.

Strange, in my Sidewinder i find clippers and pythons to be easier than condas. With only two pulse lasers its not a quick battle though

Sidewinder is one of the most nimble ships, and has a tiny profile. It can take out pretty much any larger ship with minimal risk (though, as you note it takes forever), unless that ship is faster and uses it's speed to it's advantage. NPCs won't do this. They generally try to close in and circle.

The Viper is matched in pitch performance by the clipper and python, so it's actually a bit tricker for it to avoid damage from these ships, not impossible by any means, but you can't just sit in their blind spots without a lot of skill.

The only ship that turns slower than the Anaconda is the type-9 and the Anaconda has poor acceleration and mediocre thruster performance as well...much easier to get behind.

I agree about the Clippers, I dont have any problems with them unless they steam train me (ram) which I now have a move for 9 out of 10 times.

For some reason I still have trouble taking down Pythons and Condas with a value of 70K+.

Flying grade A Cobra throughout 2 multi cannons type 2 a beam laser low heat and an overcharged multi type 1.

I've even bolted on some 27T armour, which does not help with the steam train ram.

With an ASP, i reset the resource site by logging off and on until i get wanted anacondas inside, i kill them like flies, clipper is even easier, i kill it so fast that it is funny.
The only one i have any resistance from is python..

Sidewinders dont shoot back at all, and cobras occasionally fire a shot..

That is about it.

4 fixed multicannons and 2 fixed beams. I earn about 1 million hunting in an hour.

Game is too easy..

Now over the last few days I've seen in claimed by various forums posters, that Elite Anacondas are a doddle in a Viper or Cobra. That it's far to easy they can kill them in 4 minutes, even with Class C shields - all they have to do is spam shield cells.

I've fought Elite beam toating Anacondas, and this was not my experiance. My Cobra is currently all A Class, appart from the Shields which are yet to be upgraded, they're still C. I've taken down Master and Expert Anacondas, but anything Dangerous or above in front of it I'll need assistance from the Authorities to have chance to bring one down. (I did take one deadly Anaconda out, but it was fitted with turreted fragment canons, so It doesn't really count).

I won't even attept to fight Elite Pythons, that's a whole other level. Equiped with Rail Guns they'll one hit me down to 60% Hull if I get infront of them.

I'd like to know everyones expeiance with the Elite Condas, the ships, weapons and upgrade levels and tactics you've used when successfully bringing one down solo with no assistance from NPCs or other players. Is it really that easy for you? Or is this just internet bravado and sabre ratling.

Humor yourself. Try to get basic sidewinder. Don't know about you - but I was surprised. Those elite condas pretty much ignored me while I kept biting their shields. Although I got bored rather fast :D
