Be careful when popping off Noobies

I've been killing naughty noobs. They usually seem to have accumulated somewhere around 200-500 creds worth of parking tickets but surely I've been doing a good job keeping a system clean of double dockers and station litterers.. right?

No, that's just cruel, I've killed one so far with a bounty of 12,500c, guy in an eagle, I felt he deserved it but I sometimes interdict the other ones & give them some cargo to pay off their fines. Maybe encourage them to keep playing if they get annoyed.

Got that right. That's just plain cruel. These are new players. They don't know their rear end from the station entrance/exit. And you kill them cause they didn't know what they are doing? What are you trying to do? Run them off? Cause that's what'll happen with a lot of players. Now If they have a bounty of 5000 credits or more, they've done some serious wrong doing and I'd take them out if I could. But a couple of 500 cred fines? Please.

I would hope that getting attacked by another player is not enough to run players off. There are two ways that they can avoid this if they wish, either going Solo or forming or joining a private group. The 'Mobius' group is a good start if you want a more PvE centric experience.

In an open world anything can happen and this could perhaps be better explained on the ED start screen where you choose your method of play. A quick paragraph or two on that same screen that outlines exactly what these three choices mean. If Open explained quite clearly that there is the possibility of you being attacked at any time by anyone and for almost any reason perhaps it would good some way to explaining what a player was getting themselves into.

I was sat outside one of the starter bases for new players and a few easgles kept dropping in and taking pop shots at the new players, needless to say after a few bursts of a beam laser they got the hint and jumped away, they came back again a short while later, still "wanted" lets just say you never know who is watching, pouncing on new players stuck waiting to dock on a platform is hardly sport and not one of them was wanted. Give them a break, personally the next ones i see doing it i wont just drop their shields down to zero to frighten em off ill pop their asses instead. There are quite a few players around the areas the new players are spawning keeping an eye on things, so dont be surprised if ya get hit if you try seal clubbing.

Sounds fun, might head over to one tonight.

Speaking of toxic attitudes... 'if they don't know any better it's their own fault!' Amirite?

Not at all. I think the game could do a better job of educating new players as to their options and the ramifications of their choices.

+ rep!
Wonderful of you - When I arrive I shall train (and train and train and train) and eventually join the protection of the lovely noobs, who help populate our galaxy.

Memory is a marvellous thing, and revenge is a dish best served cold. They wont always be newbies will get better and be looking out for the person that shot at them when they first tried to dock.

This -- I still have a lot to learn but I'm jotting down every player that decided I was eat prey while learning. One day I'll see if I can put up a better fight!

I agree with you on that... Station camping is not a good way to do anything in this game... But on the same token, players should really look into getting with a group (or guild as you will) as you get great benefits with membership to a good group. Training, knowledge, experience from players that have been playing since Alpha and Beta, and protection from those that would otherwise be a pain in the azers... It makes me mad that ED puts such a low view on how the groups can effect the game in good ways...

Anyway: Good job on the campers!! I would not have stopped with just shields... If its wanted, its toast...

Hello guys, I'm a new player that also spawned in LHS 3447, at Trevithick Dock. I presumed it's unchangeable, because I tried re-starting my game and got spawned to the same system.

I don't consider myself a noob. I have previous experience with this type of gameplay. I love entering and exiting stations at full speed and turning on a dime.

I don't chat in-game because figuring out how chat works, as trivial as it may be, is just not worth it, compared to the scale of the game and the catching up to older players I feel I have to do. Probably most newcomers think like me.

I didn't have much trouble with griefers. A few ships tried interdicting me, but I was too busy zipping along trading (regular and special missions) to even care if they were NPCs or players.
