Has the trading update improved it?

i make 700 each way since launch on the best boost runs ive found. 1400 per ton round trip. (within the same system). In beta i was always jumping between 2 systems, now i find runs within one system . this run is under 30m/s apart and makes me 700 each way. takes about 5 minutes to make 70K in a type 6. Loving it.

I haven't been able to play properly yet but did just log in and take a screenshot of a station importing Lithium from 9 other systems with 229,813MED supply of it and no demand.

I wonder why they didn't reset the market info overall.. it has had considerable time to mess itself up, I can't say I am convinced with this 'few days' to settle theory, but hey ho.. we will see eventually ;)

There has been a server side trading patch, which should fix trading, now when i look at a "top up" commodity* that says it exports to n system, when i go there, it makes a small profit - If i have never been i used to do this all the time, and invariably the place i had taken the "exported to" commodity either sold at a small loss or the same as I bought it- seems to be working for me, not lucky enough to find any High demand things YET but still looking...

*when i say top up commodity i mean something i fill my cargo with when i am doing a shuttle run for a faction or whatever, as you probably know

I went back to my old Gamma starter zone, and spent about an hour researching markets in a 20LY sphere. I am now running a 975 profit per ton 1 way, and 550 profit per ton on the way back. so after fuel, I am running about 1500 per ton profit round trip. I am in a Lakon 6, with an A class FSB, shields, and set up for cargo (104 tons). After all the sweet runs from before launch, to the train wreck trading has felt lately, this feels about right. I can make a complete loop in about 20 minutes tops ( unless I get sidetracked with a particularly sweet fetch or deliver mission).

I am lucky that I have a nice mix of system economy types in my area, so I will be able to drop in and see how the markets balance out over the next week or so. I certainly feel that the DEVs are on the right track.

It's a bit easier. Not hard to make 900+ in one direction, but finding systems that pay well both ways is a bit tricky.

Progenitor cells and performance enhancers out of hitechs are the easiest thing to flog for a high profit. Had a bit of luck taking gold back on the return leg from high supply extraction economies (1,700 round trip).

I'm still not seeing 'high demand' anywhere, but medium demand systems are paying what high demand used to so it doesn't matter.

I wish folk would understand that the trading problem is not about profit, profit can be made anywhere, it's about the trading system. The fact that there are still hardly any High demand commodities and that basically everything, everywhere you go, is a Low/Medium demand. This is an indication of a completely stagnant market and boring to the extent of why bother.

It used to be fun to go out and explore in the hunt for the lucrative run, it would get folk out of the starter systems, give them the opportunity to have a look about but, that has all been taken away. The problem lies in the over aggressive AI background trading simulation. The "Fix" should have resolved this however even with a quick look now at the current situation we can see that it has not even in the slightest been resolved. We still see Extraction economies demanding minerals, Refineries demanding metals, the list goes on.

I was recently in an area that was devoid of any Agricultural economy, the closest was 37ly away yet every station is on Low/Med demand for food, traveling to the Agri system we find that its demanding certain types of food, this is just wrong. The Agri can't supply itself but everyone else is happy with their Low/Med demand.

We know FD stated they were looking into it and that it was a non trivial fix, i just hope that they will continue to examine the problem as this most recent fix just did not cut it. Trading is the backbone of this game (we all need cash to carry out our prefered game style), if it's not working correctly then the knock on will eventually hit all the elements of the game.

Appart from the obvious bugs, as mentioned above the profit per tonne is never going to be as high as it was as that's being balanced.

It seems to me people won't be happy until they get gazillions of profit on each and every run. Markets don't work that way, when you find a profitable run do you really expect it to remain that way indefinitely? I sure don't, you have to move on to pastures new and search for a different route, that to me makes it more interesting and you get to see new places.

Exactly! I'm not sure all the ins and outs of the market problems but I am now seeing better balanced demand and supply but that doesn't mean you will now suddenly make loads of cash! In fact making to much would make it to easy. I've made 275k its taken me quite a few hrs but if id made millions already it would be to easy.

You wanted it Balenced now it is Balanced stop

But also we do make minmal Profits i am ATM in Aulin Progenitor Cells ar still at 6278
Consumer Tec at 6138 now i Take a look in IBootis

Yeaha i made 310 per Ton thanks @ thy Guys who wanted Balancing like Adept!!

Well if 330 / tonne is the kind of average we can expect, I'll be moving on to a better game. I was only here till they fixed trading and if this is the fix....no thanks.

I scoped out a market that looked promising (lots of high supply both ends) when the markets were bugged. Today the demand is finally picking up, seeing high demand for the first time in a week and profits are up to just under 1k/ton both ways.

So many contradictory reports...
Well, some people were probably trading on bugged markets, that weren't behaving as they should have been. Now the fixes are starting to take hold their milk runs have evaporated, as the profit shouldn't have been there in the first place.
