I'm with Iardarz on this one. I Like the idea of having to negotiate a re-entry without burning up and landing at a space port to peruse the various bulletin boards, commodities markets and such, but that's as far as it goes for ME. The thought of wandering around in the guise of a computer generated avatar, and bumping in to other computer generated avatars doesn't appeal to me in the slightest.
Even though i get free expansions as a KS backer, a 'walking about' expansion is one expansion I won't be installing.
I want to be a Han Solo, not a Dr Livingstone.
i thought even backers had to buy the season pass
What would be the point of walking around on a planet? There is no game mechanism that would benefit from it
you really having that much trouble figuring out how it could possibly benefit the gameplay experience? i mean imagine being able to vist one of the capital cities. or a village. you know....space gta...
i mean unless youre one of those people that just like driving games and not getting out of the car
I'm not holding out a lot of hope for out-of-ship gameplay in the future. Just being able to visit starports on the surface will be enough for me.
Procedurally generating a whole galaxy at the resolution of an FPS without being totally bland or samey? I'd love to see it (and the developers of No Mans Sky think it's possible) but I won't be holding my breath.
actually its not going to be 100% procedural generated. just the parts that dont need humans to do but takes alot of time. thsi saves money for the much more cooler stuff.
and procedural generation is getting very advanced in the late years.
actually you should look up "big hero 6" and its devolpment that who san fran town was procedural generated and then a team went through it and put some features in it.
what i cant wait to see is how they combine procedural generation and hand made aspects of the planets.
