I Made 25 Million Credits Today

if trading is that lucrative then the ship and equipment prices must be raised.
not too mention wear and tear which is way too low!

Yeah, definitely not.

Your average player doesn't have the time to sit at the computer for 14 hours a day nonstop running routes to fit a half way decent FSD. I'm lucky if I get 2 hours to myself a night to play. At that rate with current prices, sure I'll have a Python eventually... But it'll probably be like 6 months from now. So yeah, prices do not need to be raised.

Absolutely this.

I am fortunate that i made money in rares week because i had a lot of time to play.

With the current module/hull pricing structure it is going to take a lot of hours to get to the bigger ships and make them fun to fly.

The BB-missions need to scale with Elite rank and friendly relations so that there is work for players with 50, 100, 200 and 400 ton cargo holds
Uh no on the rank point

you should only gain rank by knowing what to do with the great big cargo hold

on the relations point, the nr and value of missions is already reflective of your relations, although large missions could be more frequent. Currently largest I've picked up is 86t with an Allied faction

Very similar to what I'm doing if you throw in missions and exploration on the rares hops. Just settled in Alliance space for a while to build up rep.

It needn't be a grind. You can kit out a cobra, or asp, to fight and trade 32-60 - depending on the ship - then bounty hunt. When you dock to re-arm, buy rares then go hunting again. Repeat until you have as much stock as you can/want, then do a single trade run for a 500-900k profit.

This is what I do. Doesn't feel like a grind at all.

I've been running around randomly doing a bit of trading and mining in the hope that I will come across one of these magic routes or pristine metallic planetary rings but nothing yet. Doing OK - but nothing like the numbers above. I'm happy - it's fun, not a grind, and making a little on the side with exploration sales as well. Isn't this what the game is about? I suppose I could go to one of the suggested locations but then all I would probably do is grind backwards and forwards and then it might become a bit of a bore. That's the beauty of the game - always has been - do it your own way - no race and no competition.

When people start to complain about how trading is out of balance with bounty hunting or BB missions or whatever I think they have overlooked one important aspect of how it works. Could be wrong but I think it goes like this. As you build reputation and/or rank then the BB missions start to change - you will get better paid and more interesting ones to the point where I suspect the trend may reverse. Maybe bounties too? Not sure on that but as you improve your Pilots Federation ranking perhaps the spawned bounties ratio of low to high level pilots/bounties changes as well. I suspect that after you have achieved a significantly higher level your earnings will tend to shift away from trading as the relativity adjusts. But trading does not change with level in any way.

Well, to be honest 1000/ton each way is not that unusual, I have been doing it for the last 3 days. If you made 25mil in one day I would have to say you were jumping between stations for a solid 24 hours, no breaks. The best you can do is 250,000 in about 10 mins, so 25 mil is a very long day.

230-250k in 10 mins is what I make in an Asp, Type 9 would make about 4 times more pre run, so 25 mil is about 4-5 hours of non-stop trading.

My problem with missions is that they seem to reset temporarily when you log in. Being married with a house full of commitments I am lucky to find 30 - 60 minutes at a time. When I log in, even at an allies station I get offered 500cr - 1500cr courieer missions or 1000-8000cr hauler or collection missions. If I take as many of these as I can to a single location and return the missions get more lucrative each trip. By the third one I'm often in the 250-350cr collection missions with 100,000cr - 200,000cr profit with room to spare in the cobra for some regular trading. Usually at this point I'm about out of time and have to stretch to take one of these more lucrative missions. If I quit and come back a couple of hours later all the missions have reset to sub 1000cr. That makes it pretty tough to make good money if your time is limited. It seems you are rewarded for hours of persistent play and penalized for playing in short stints when you can.

Probably why I'm still in a cobra with mostly A3 - C3 and B4 or C4 components even with a 2 week "headstart" and playing an hour or two almost every day.

Many of those come with decent length timers (8-10 hours)...you could take them....get your commitments done then hit the more profitable ones when you have a chance later in the day...might lose a little sleep...but you could maybe find the extra time. Just trying to help out, not trying to minimize your commitments or how you value things in your life. Some people aren't aware these missions 'stick' until you can return. The timer does move while you are gone...but if you have 9 hours and are away for 5 that still will leave 4 hours to get them done...and many only take 15-20 minutes.

And I just found an even better trade route, so I stand to make even more tomorrow.

Trading was lucrative before, but now with high demands, I say we're officially in a golden age of trading!
Thanks for confirming that trade works again :) i was confused by the changes of the last few days and didn't play at all the last 2 days because of it.
Everywhere supply/demand changes so drastically that i made much loss in trading. Nice to hear it's stabilizes again, and even profitable! Going to get online later today :D

I'm not feeling competitive and trading isn't my business, so personally I have no problems with that. But don't you think that such trade routes should flatten out after a little while? Not sure if the trade engine is dynamic enough to render such a more realistic behavior though...

It does flatten. With the space cow, you need to look for systems not only with good profit, but good supply/demand. If you find a station with 300,000 supply, even the space cow isn't going to run that dry.

its pretty funny before my save dissapeared from the ed servers i was making probably 10k a day from trading XD because i got reset ive stopped playing ed until i hear about some fixes because some of these glitches are unbearable. since my friend is a beta backer he has access to sol and he makes probably 300k per trip selling mostly performance enhancers but as soon as i get a hauler or something that can carry a decent amount of cargo im going to be trading again. since my save was lost ive lost all access to the permits and money i had earlier so i had a permit for sol and van maanens star and was about to go for my sirius permit but lost all connections and save corupted :D the joy

Trade routes are flattening as soon as you have put them in one of those crazy tools. So my advice is not to use them. Thats one of the best features in the game so far and I hope FD will flat the markets faster when they are used by more and more people. Otherwise the guys that are searching for and developing those routes have no advantage against the tool-users.

And yes - theres always an advantage...

Considering that 25M is less than half of one upgrade in a Large sized ship, I'd say there's room for improvement, yet.

But at least now it's possible to work towards the outfitting upgrades in a reasonable time, whereas before it wasn't.

To get a Type9 or Anaconda battle ready with nice upgrades, it's at least another ~325M, in addition to the price of the ship. And armor? heheh. Yeah, armor. Military armor on an Anaconda? I'll let that be a surprise. ;)

in other words you do something other than trade and just want it nerfed.

I for one, am now going to try my hand at pirating. Thanks for the trade routes and the fact that some of you have sacrificed your shields for cargo space.

Fly safe commanders........;)
