This is great! Someday it would be nice if it used the EDDN and other crowd sourced system lists, but I like that the notes and other things one collects are private.
I get it as well when pressing F1 in the data entry. I don't know what language this is written in, I assume some variant of C, but I program in Visual Basic 10 and from what I hear the IDE is fairly similar. I created a test project just to see if I could make the f1 - f3 keys change a combobox's selected index. I had a keydown event setup but it wouldn't fire it until I found something. In the forms properties there is a property KeyPreview. This is normally set to false. I changed it to True and it worked like a charm. You might need to go into your data input form. I'm sure it's correct in the main form as the F keys work.
I'm a programmer (amateur, but still). I know these little things can make you pull your hair out![]()
In the Good Trade lists can we get a check box for illegal stuff?
Its interesting... I don't get the F1 help pop up here, on either commodity list (main screen or the data entry one). I USED to get it; but I since fixed that (or so I thought). Possibly a Windows 8 thing? I need to test it on my Win8 machine. I'll keep an eye out for it though.
Yes, I'm on Win 8 (8.1).
The popup happens on the dialog for individual data entry, not the commodity list.
Its nice to be able to access everything directly. Just my opinion, do what you have to do.Would this bother anyone...

Basically; get rid of all that stuff under commodities and let it be accessed from a menu up top. I could also add all that to the Right-Click context menu as well.
Likewise (not pictured), how about getting rid of all the station buttons right under the station list and have those be from the menu (or right-click context)?
Like what? Sorry, tool virgin here.TIL- I can do just about everything in the Data Entry Mode on the Number Pad. AWESOME! Might have been common knowledge, but it's just one more feature that makes this tool even better. Thanks ArchV1.

I think I would like a quick button to add a station. And also that a newly added station is automatically selected.Would this bother anyone...

There could be room for an "add button" above the table, left of the checkbox for searcing station data. If the rest are moved away, I would like a "notes" button on the "add station" dialog.
For station list management, a window like the data entry window could work. What is the purpose of removing them? To save the line? Or to just get rid of a bunch of buttons? If it is the latter I would leave the "add" button and add a "manage stations" button. To give that station management window.
I have asked for improved hiding, being able to reorder the list would also be kind of nice
For the commodities, how about "forcing" the use of data entry window? Leave the data entry button, and have the other buttons in that window alone. Then maybe add a "hide" button that expands a small window with the checkboxes? Or the right click. Today I never use the data entry window, but it would not be a major pain to use it (I have borderless elite and a second monitor for this tool).
I am not a huge fan of digging into the menu for a routine operation. Right click options could work, though, in which case menu should also have them so that new users can discover them.
