Please wipe

If they were to wipe I'd probably be done with the game. But they won't. You don't drop offline and call your game an MMO, and then wipe after release. You just don't.

I would like to see evidence pretty soon of account resets or bans for those who have made their millions by nefarious means and/or a clear statement from FD on how they are going to deal with cheats in the future.

In all honesty unless you were one of the people that abused the server issues to amass hundreds of millions of credits then its highly likely that you have nothing to worry about. If you are, then probably some cause for concern, and you should probably submit a ticket and pretend it was all a big accident so you don't end up back at square one.

Frontier obviously has tools to reset saves on the individual basis. I suggest wiping the people who are asking for it. I think it would be fair. I can't say I care - as baker I would get an insta-cobra anyways, meaning I'll get to Asp in a matter of days. But I feel bad for others who would have to start from smaller ships.

IMO, they should wait until most of the serious bugs are sorted, and then add a second server where people can chose to create a second pilot and play in a fresh universe that is free from the launch flaws.

Oh, sign me up for that. Sadly, I doubt such a thing would ever happen.

Trolling in the OP is strong.

There's a competition going on right now, there will be no mass wipe. There might be rollbacks of individuals that ended up with 5 billion credits. Otherwise, they have a contest in progress for real money.

> This is what I love about space, all the moaning.

Ha, ha.

Macgyver, you're funny. "Do you know how much I make"... har de har har.

I'm not troll. I love the game. Just some are wayyyyyy Tooooooo serious. It's just a game. Which was kinda my point. I restart games I like all the time.

Most game developers have their EULAs written in a way that pretty much says, "In the end, we reserve the right to do anything we want at any time and the players have no legal recourse." Its an attempt to legally protect their butts in case of worst case scenarios. So, I doubt a lawsuit would be successful, but that doesn't mean players have to keep playing the game. If a wipe were to occur, I would be extremely p***ed off, along with many others. But FD seems to be a good, straight-up company (from my experiences). They won't wipe because it would be cutting their own throats. I don't even think EA would do such a thing, then again it is EA...

I see no "false advertising" the devs stated several times that wipes could -in extreme circumstances- take place and it is also discussed in great detail along with the range of other complaints that people make like 24/7 online servers, all covered in the Elite: Dangerous EULA and Terms of Use.

I do not think they will wipe anyway, i was answering the OP -rollback possibly- but i assume there will be no wipe.

I'm glad you believe that.
The fact that no rollback or wipe will happen should be proof enough that you are actually wrong.
The software company would be terrified of legal action.
EULA's hold about as much strength as a baby fabric softener.

I assume it is because this is the internet and we can all make outlandish claims and threats under the cloak of anonymity that encourages certain people to do and say even dumber things than they would in reality.
Wow cat skinning is a bit too far I think ~hides my cats~

False advertising made to sell goods is in breach of every consumer law I've ever read.
Fairly certain this has not changed in the last 5 years.
Great thing is, the Internet keeps all the data forever.
Like I have said before, game developers need to be held responsible.

In what way do you believe FD are anywhere in the vicinity of false advertising?

There will be no wipe. Logic will prevail and I am sure FD have lawyers capable of coming to the same conclusion.

And I'm pretty sure FD figured this out without needing to waste one billable second of their lawyers' time. These issues neither were going to, nor will ever amount to a full rollback.

Oh, and I utterly disagree with your claims about readiness for release.

Sorry? In what way does FD not performng an utterly needless rollback prove that they weren't doing something (entirely unnecessarily) for legal reasons?

The audacity that it takes to request a wipe at this point.

You will never get your wish. As they say, wish in one hand and, well.. you know the second half.

Thankfully developers don't listen to asinine ideas like these from asinine people.
