Where did you install ed.
Mine is in C:\program files (x86)\elitedangerous\EDLaunch\Products\FORC-FDEV-D-1002\Logs

I did some online digging and I found out that my ED data is being saved to C:\Users\Name\AppData\Local\Frontier_Developments\Products\FORC-FDEV-D-1010 but the AppData folder is hidden. I have to go to the command line and type %appdata% to even find this folder. I can't find a way to unhide appdata and there is no way for me to find these folders from this route planner interface where we have to set the netlog path.

I second the idea of putting out to the X-52 pro display...because otherwise im never going to use that for anything and B: Yeah, it would be awesome to not have to switch screens.

Apologise if stupid suggestion and I dont know if it will make a difference but do you have view systems files and folders switched on?
control panel, folder options, view, Hidden files and folders, Show hidden files. folders and drives.

Same for me. I would recommend avoiding this product until this is discussed. In other news, where the crap is my Logs folder? I don't have and E/Products/FORC-FDEV thing going on.

This has been happening since day 1. Luckily, no one has ever had a real problem with it, except for the folks at Avast . Try submitting it to https://www.virustotal.com/en/ - you'll see that none of the other big AV packages has an issue with it. 2 very obscure scanners (that I haven't heard of and no one else seems to either) come up with alarms on it as well, but none of the respected ones list it as a threat.

On top of that, and that's a really important one, my app does NOT require admin privileges. It cannot change system files.

But of course, you should always be extremely careful what you run on your system. I'd advise you rather not use my tool if it gives you worries. After all, I designed it to take away your worries!

I'm running W7x64

I've checked out all the "system critical runtimes", the AV response is that the .exe is clean, I ve also added a rule for the firewall. W7 is up to date, drivers are up to date.
I ve written before that java was ok cause one file of the package is .json that is related to javascript so, asking for a suggestion\solution, I tried to simplify things excluding problems related to most common causes.
Anyway I tried also to run on another machine running a different version of w7x64 having the same result.
Looking in processes tab in the task manager when I launch the exe I can see that 2 processes with same name that are created and 5 secs. later shutted down silently with no application window on screen.

I've already done this quite a few days ago but it needs this input from several people as a check. And apparently not enough people have done that even though it needs only 5.

This is because each Target System has a CR (Confidence Rating) counter and when you enter it the first time the CR gets set to 1.

It is not only avast that has issues with it by the way. Bitdefender keeps moaning about it too even though virustotal clains bitdefender give it the thumbs up.

Two more questions/remarks:

1) I do get 1 'huge' issue with elite-copilot-v029 (and the -debug.exe version) though. When I have your tool open quotes ' and double quotes " get entered twice anywhere on my system. Regardless of what program has focus btw so not just inside your tool itself!
2) Would it be possible to somehow get an option to use EDSC's database but include any and all systems (preferably down to a customizable CR value)?

I registered specifically to request a couple of features for this, because this program is great.

I would like for it to spell out phonetically if the letters in the system name are all caps, or if it detects a number or something. I dislike phonetic spelling for the most part, but with systems like BDKAL-92-Z I'd prefer it. Could there be a way for you to detect non phonetical names and swap to phonetics and back with a new setting?

It would be really really cool if there was a way to set bookmarks, and then route to those bookmarks with either a voice command or a keybinding, so I could route around to common locations without minimizing. It could be really simple, like just having 10 bookmark slots, and binding them to control shift F1, control shift F2, or whatever.

Anyway, that's all I have really, other than that the program is awesome.

No, it uses a crowd sourced database so if nobody has entered the systems in the EDSC database (http://edstarcoordinator.com/, this software will not know about it.
It takes 5 people entering a system into the EDSC database for it to be recognized by the way. So get cracking and add all the systems you encounter!!

Hi all,
after reading I d like to try this wonderfull tool but after download and extraction, when I try to run the .exe (as Admin obviously) nothing happens.
Naturally I followed the instructions except for hooking netlog cause the tool window does not appear.
Java is up to date.
Any suggestion ?

Don't know if this will work - tried uploading a couple of images. Problem with routing but ok in other tools.

Woo-hoo - it worked. OK - you can see from the images that in this test, Zaonce to Sol, EC failed but CMDR Athanasius' Route Planner found it fine. Note that the jump distance used is 10 ly in both cases - a tall order and I didn't really expect a route - but there is one it seems. Oh - and the image doesn't show the bottom line but trust me, the last jump is to Sol.

How are you doing the search? Are you using the A* algorithm?

I have the same problem as LSD3..

After clicking .exe ... nothing happens.

I tried on my laptop.. and it works.
After I tell it that its ok to run.. Default windows protection said it could be harmful.


On my desktop I am running Win 7 x64.
Have tried several things.. turning off virus and system protection etc..
even running in Safe mode.

All I get is the hourglass for a few seconds.


Taskmanager shows elite-copilot *32 starting .. then disappearing.


Even tried a copy of the folder from the laptop that it worked on... still no go.


UPDATE:
Installed Win7 x64 on a second hard drive..
immediately tried Copilot .. and..... it worked.

so.. what in the crap is causing it not to work on my regular drive... ??

Just came on your tool, excellent stuff!!!!! Just, one 'demand', if possible.... can you program the window to stay above any other? I play in windowed, and that feature would help to have a written list in sight...

Yes, this is a known problem - I'm not using A* and am aware that it's not optimal. When I started making E.C., I wasn't even thinking of publishing it and went for a quick win that worked well enough, since I couldn't find a plug-n-play A* implementation in python. I think my current constraint is that no step may lead AWAY from the destination, which is probably why my algorithm won't find anything in your case. I wonder if loosening that restriction might actually fix this without breaking anything - if I have a little extra time I shall try that!

I still can't figure out what could be going on . Do you know your way around a dos box? If so, we can probably hunt this bug down with the ...-debug.exe from the E.C. dropbox directory. If you run that from a command line, you'll see tons of debug info. Which the last of that should give a good hint as to what went wrong that made it close.

I'll have to add that. If you want it permanently, you could use Windows Mixer to turn the app down to 0. I'll probably put in a little button soon though.
