There have been a lot of discussions about how to outfit ships for exploration. Allow me to present the final iteration of my Type 6 Explorer.
This ship won't see any more upgrades; I'll be trading it in for an Asp, once I have the funds to kit it out with equivalent performance as the Obvious Enigma Mk. 2, shown above.
What I'd like to point out is that, despite almost all A-rated modules, this ship still has a jump range of almost 28 LYs. This is enough range to explore probably 95% of all stars in the Galaxy; which would take you longer to do than you can effectively live, given today's medical technology. I would happily reduce my range a light year, in order to upgrade the sensors and shield generator, but I'm carrying D-rated ones because of power restrictions.
So why upgrade to an Asp? Survivability, skipping over previously explored territory faster during trips back to civilization, and of course that last 5% of the Galaxy.

P.S., I lied a little...I'll be upgrading the Auto Field-Maintenance Unit. The station I'm at just didn't have any.
