I was there this time (after arriving a bit late to Betapocalypse) assuming you were Commander WildChild85 and it was all good fun. I'm almost sorry I offended your mother SuBSybk, almost ;)

Thx for all the kind comments guys i was just trying to liven up everyone's Friday night :)

Yeah, I do. Especially if they are streaming their defeat and then cry about it ... :D

I so was not crying about it, seriously man your attitude leaves a lot to be desired. If i cared about dieing why would i allow everyone to stream snipe me? Someone asked me if it was ok to post the stream and i said it was fine and then repetitively entered Lave in cruise mode for everyone to keep attacking me...

If i wanted to i could have just gone elsewhere and repaired after each fight or jumped to other systems and popped players as they arrived one by one rather than cruising into a mass of players and slowing right down to allow easy mass interdictions ;)

The only thing i thought was a bit of a shame was the fact that players were interdicting me over and over i had a bug which meant i took 2-4% damage even when i instantly throttled down and submitted, i suffered from this all night & that wasn't the players fault it was just a bit buggy.

When i was typing to players to RP the event they would mainly just attack and say nothing which was unfortunate. Stream sniping go's against streaming etiquette and i was fine with the sniping but not even bothering to type back -when i was taking lots of damage writing out a sentence to make the event come alive a little- is kind of weak in my honest opinion. It doesn't matter but that's all i was commenting on after the event, i certainly wasn't "crying"..lol

I did have lots of fun and although i only had a tiny amount of shield cells left on the final battle it was still epic. If i had full 100% hull and full cell banks i could have fought players off for longer tho i'm sure ;)

Next time just so you all know ill be bring a crew with me -i can play the numbers game too- so i cant be double/triple teamed and when others join in to stack the odds against me in a fair fight (Python vs Python) and try 3 Vs 1 me etc my friends will jump in to even the odds ^_^

Ofc i don't mind 3vs1 one with smaller ships but large equal ships and many others helping them means i too have to have friends to help me out.

Fly safe commanders.

Be careful if you fly to lave, there is a pirate with his python doing his stuff (over 400'000 bounty). I don't want to attack him alone in my viper so maby some bountyhunters can do the job?

Has anyone met him since then? How much is it now?
I've got 1.5 million :p

Most interesting thread to read. I agree there should be some way in game that other players could alert others to possible pirates, griefers etc in an sector/area. Then people could help others out. Even people they didnt know.
It seems to me that FD should take note of the example of this thread and maybe establish a tightly modded GalNet sticky thread which allows players to post news items through this forum and which appear also on GalNet in game

Because this has been fantastic in adding to gameplay

how big are the chances to drop in the same instance of a wanted player in this "mmo" anyway?

Big, in my experience.

I was playing fair to better the stream enjoyment yet others thought it was cool to 3-4 Vs 1 me when i clearly was badly damaged & had hardly any shield cells left. That's fine of course but not really something id describe as very competitive.

Ill be there, looking for you.
For what it's worth, I tried to get you 1o1 both times and I would have preferred to have it kept this way :)

I like shooitng out the engines and then shooting out hte life support, then you jsut get out of range of his guns and wait.

Try to type LoL into the chat box as much as possible.

This has been the best thread I've read on these forums so far. Thanks to all who made it happen! I have yet to engage in PVP (need far more money poured into my Asp;)) but when I do, I hope I have as much fun as you all did in this.. And of course that I have enough for insurance ;)

Devs, I hope you take note of this thread and take heart knowing that you made quite a few people very happy! Even vicariously!

Finally, the shield cell drinking game, I hope that doesn't become a thing, drink responsibly folks! (AKA, I don't want a massive hangover every day;))

The only way you offended his mother was the idea, that she was hanging out with you. The wolf does not care about the opinions of sheep.

I really want to know how many of the pirate types in Pythons and like actually got their large ships through pirating

I started pirating about 2 days after i got the game. I do not incur large bounties. I don't even kill most people or NPCs. I don't ask someone to drop there loot either. I simply knock out there shields, shoot a hatch breaker, wait outside of gun range, and then scoop the loot while they try to break my shields. In the week I have been playing I am up to a cobra worth about 2mil. Almost all my money comes from black market sales and Sig missions. Pick up a black box, sell me some slaves, find this artifact, rebel transmissions. They all have the same icon in the bulletin board.

The nice thing about the cobra is that they really don't get a chance to attack you if you don't want them too. You just burn away. They say the viper is the fastest ship, and that may be true, but I find no ship can catch a cobra that doesn't want to be caught.

FYI, I don't hang out in Lave.

So sorry I missed this, I would have been toast in this fight but I would have loved to be part of it. THIS IS ELITE DANGEROUS

Hi all, i was the python causing such chaos in Lave tonight.

I have to say it was great fun and although it was all kind of ad lib i feel it was a great fun night.

Couple of things i have to mention, i went to Lave to break the blockade that i had heard about on the forums and one thing led to another and eventually this pvp mass battle.

I had a deal with a few of my streaming friends that i would have a shot of rum for every shield cell i used and after about an hour or two of playing i had drunk over a pint of rum..lol

Needless to say i was very messy and the stream was not typical of my play style.

I have no ill feelings toward any combatants, have full respect toward all elite gamers and even though i did express my feelings that the end result was a bit weak i really did mean that the finale felt a bit unrewarding in the sense that i wanted to see if i could fight the python 1v1 and win or lose and i had so few shield cells left when the fight came and vs so many enemies it felt almost impossible. Of course vs a Python, 2 vipers and 3 police i died as i could not possibly have enough shield cells to cover that kind of fire power, let alone the fact that players interdicted me every time i entered cruise ;)

It was just a fun pvp experience and i for one really enjoyed it. I expected to die and invited all stream viewers to snipe me. If i wanted to escape i could have easily run to another system rather than return for 3v1 combat over and over in lave but i felt people were having fun and didn't want to spoil the moment.

Worth pointing out that i had just enough to cover the insurance for 1 replacement of the ship, not hundreds of millions etc and each interdiction cost me 40k alone for every 2% damage. In total the event cost me 10 million and i now cannot afford even my insurance but it was worth it as it was such fun, i hope i did not cause others any big losses but i'm pretty sure i didn't.

I'm new to streaming and my giggling on killing players was not meant as an insult to their bravery but instead more down to mass rum and the comments on twitch from viewers.

Thx to all that watched and massive appreciation to all that took part, I salute every commander i fought and I respect your skills.

ps..i did ask all commanders i interdicted for cargo and only 10- 20 % of it, the only commanders i attacked on sight were those that attacked me without saying a word -which was the majority- and those that had already fought me several times throughout the night. As for a Commander which said "i surrender" and i killed that was 1-2 seconds of mouse clicking which i didn't mean to do, regretted it a lot and i have offered to drop cargo for the costs of their hull, also they are a regular viewer of my stream and we are friends so i'm sure they didn't really hate me for it.

Hope to do another attempt at pirating some day soon, this was my first attempt and i for one had a blast. :)

Fly safe commanders.

Not many if any I would have thought, the python is super expensive....it'll be a while before anyone playing as pirates since release can afford one I suspect...then you have to worry about maintaining it....if working as part of a pirate gang I could see how the gang could afford to maintain thier "flagship" in their armada but not so sure about a lone pirate!

By day you can trade in one faction within the law
By night you can pirate in another and not care two hoots about their authorities and your reputation :)

I was fighting an npc Anaconda in my Sidewinder at a nav beacon last night nearby to Lave, had just got his shields down when a python who had been peaceful up until then waded in attacked me. I nearly managed to get away but it was just a little too much for a sidewinder! No text or warnings from the guy either, seemed a bit harsh I had enough on my plate. When I see him again I will hopefully be in my big ship. Hope to see him again soon for a fairer fight.

Here's my HelmetCam footage (no, not THAT kind of footage) of the Lave Python Extravaganza...

He made good money trading, he had run the route between Tau Ophiuchi and LHS 3505 many, many, times. Gold for one, resonating separators for the other. It kept his missus happy, a roof over his kids' heads. He even tucked a few credits to one side until he managed to afford a Type 7 and his income and quality of life improved.

But somehow it wasn't enough.

It had been nagging at him awhile. The boredom, the monotony. Normally a well tempered fellow he lost his cool as a sidewinder cut him up at an orbis station. This time he didn't take it in stride, he wedged the guy in the entrance and laughed as the station killed the loiterer.

The rest of the day he tried to go about his business as usual but as he flew his route for the millionth time his mind snapped in the jump between star systems. His wife and kids never saw him again. But sometimes they spot a Python hovering a kilometre from their space house, and they find gold, resonating separators and rare goods strewn across their garden...
