Many good words.

That was a fun fight and thanks a lot for the writeup :)
SuBSynk is not a bad pilot at all so I had my hands quite full both times I interdicted him.

Sorry for shooting you there, I was a bit mad for a second that my bounty had been sniped and I shot at the first player I saw, did no even notice you were wanted, lol :)

I always see cmdr shockwave but never the python guy... disapointed :(

It's because I generally play/hunt players around the Lave/Orrere/Riedquat systems, it's just 'home' in my head for Elite purposes. Apologies if I've ever shot you!

I liked how Shockwave threw himself at him again and again to stall the guy.

He's back at Lave now BTW.

He was cool about it, I messaged him and made it clear I was stalling; The idea on Mumble was others would jump on the FSD Wake, but that's so damn near impossible to do at the moment (you don't lose momentum locking onto one like you do for other Navigation points, so getting to <1Nm means you overshoot again and again and again) that it couldn't be done. Besides, I was kinda having fun just trying to cause him a little frustration, he got me to 13% the last time!

I do wish it was a little more viable for someone in a fitted combat Cobra/Viper to take on a player-controlled Python/Ana, NPC ones can be taken on but player ones might as well be flying fortresses, especially if they're running Cell Banks.

Rote1 or SubSync

Do either of you happen to have any video from our encounters? I'd be interested to see the battles from another perspective.

+ 1

It's really difficult to drop in on a low energy wake at the moment. It takes lots of time to align and buy the time you do the other ships are gone. I'm getting better at it but it's not working right at the moment.

Worth pointing out that i had just enough to cover the insurance for 1 replacement of the ship, not hundreds of millions etc and each interdiction cost me 40k alone for every 2% damage. In total the event cost me 10 million and i now cannot afford even my insurance but it was worth it as it was such fun, i hope i did not cause others any big losses but i'm pretty sure i didn't.
Interesting point SubSynk raises though that's not come up - I interdicted him 4-6 times (Not exactly sure) with some submissions, some wins. (I wasn't watching your stream by the way, I was having data mentioned to me on Mumble!) Every time I did it, I cost him 40k, whilst costing myself maybe 20k in total repairs for my Cobra. And each time, as long as I was on the ball and made a point to boost past him (to abuse his turning speed and acceleration) he couldn't get to put much damage on me until the last time when I screwed up the angle.

That's... remarkably open to potential abuse, Frontier. Interdict and run over & over just as a way to degrade them prior to engagement.

I think it's fair enough if you fight an interdiction to the end you get hit with the same % damage as anyone else, you should be able to submit to avoid the damage anyway...

The major issue was that even when submitting Subsynk was getting FSD error messages and still being hit with 4% damage, not sure if there was something he should have been doing when submitting or if it's a bug....as even though he tried everything to stop being punished with repair bills it just wasn't happening

That might be because from my perspective, I was winning the FSDi before the Submission finished (Which takes in my experience maybe 3 seconds) - I'm running a 2B FSDi, so I can Interdict reliably once I'm up to speed at 170ls, and it goes up very quickly. So it might not actually be a bug, just the way they work at present.

This is going to be a lot more common now that more and more beta veterans are back in their preferred ships for RPK and will see just how far they can take it. The whole bounty mechanic kinda backfires as some sort of badge to show off with.

Criminals always show their crimes as a badge of honor in the darker parts of the civilization. This mechanic isn't a backfire but emulating what happens in real life. I never heard of gang members brag about being clean. Have you?

Shame i can't - this but how on earth do you know he's a beta vet?
