So, I'm 1500 light years out, where's the stations?

Thats really unfortunate. With the technology humans have in this game, there would be much more much fruther. You can go 1000ly in a couple hours if you're on a mission.

The modern FSD we have now is a very young technology. It was invented 30 or 40 years ago. Before that it took weeks to go to the next system and intra system travel was also much slower.

the hyperdrive is a recent invention where jumps to systems take mere seconds.

warping around use to take a long time before. Still humans have managed to spread far and wide.

While I appreciate your concern, and appreciate the advice from all, I'm back safe and sound. You need stations though, I didnt bump one thing and the almost 3000 ly journey my ship made without visiting a station was down to 37% hull integrity.

How did your hull get down to the 37% then? What actually caused that damage? Are you sure you are not confusing with paintwork or wear and tear? Neither of those are critical for exploration anyway.

Yes, but human population does matter. "Hey guys, we build this station 1000LY from Sol... mind running it?" "Yeah, sure, just give us another 25 years to get busy making babies and we will send you them over when they are grown up". :D

means I want it easier , my ship got hurt

There should clause in GAMES this days for the CAREBEARS , go do something safe, like sleeping This space game is called Elite DANGEROUS

What's the bet ED DEV's already have plans to dumb this game down to appease "THERE SHOULD BE..blah blah.... IT'S ALL TOO HARD CROWD"
NEXT autopilot & station every few light years doh!

Take a chill pill.

Fuel scoops. When you play with fire you get burned.

I'm expecting we'll see (in a future update) some hidden research / military bases near a few of the nebulas...look for systems that require permits, out there in the void.

For example - search for Maia (system in the middle of the Plaeides nebula with a black hole) and check the sourrounding systems...

I ran into the same thing today. Federation became hostile to me so I decided to try to find some empire systems. I headed "north" (up, in the galactic plane) and ran out of civilized systems fairly quick. Happily, after limping back into occupied space with my ship's integrity at 49%, I did make 200k + for selling my exploration data. Still haven't found any Empire systems, though.
They're in the other direction.

Please please this. I want epic PEW PEW guns pretty please with a cherry on top (Farscape rules)
Maybe a wormhole weapon? :p

If I had my way Radiation leaks given all over damage would mean going though a wormhole (jump drive) would have blow you ship to bits.

EDIT maybe it's time for DARK SOULS in space :)

For me I want a smart game A space game a REAL GAME given its trying to use REAL WORLD data.

Annnnnnd...automagically disqualified by use of the term 'Carebear'. Go back to EVE, where that's acceptable community standards.

I decided it was time to venture forth and get away from all the trade areas that exist in that 300ly sphere around the starting area. However, i haven't run into a station in a 1000 light years. Is this a known thing I missed?
You accidentally an explorer.

Time to bust out the term "EVEbear" just for lolz.

I'd like to see the expansion of "populated" space worked into exploration. Maybe it's a thing Frontier has on the burner somewhere.

Getting stations out into uninhabited space is part of the game.

Explorers (you) are supposed to be going out into uninhabited space and scanning for metal-rich planets and planets that can sustain life. That data is brought back to inhabited space and sold. Factions that have money and power can then work toward moving out to those systems and building new stations.

Pretty sure they do, as part of the background simulation, and maybe not all that far on the back burner.

As an Eve player and an ED player I have to say, the buthurt over eve is pretty strong in this place. Look eve is a place where folks can explore their inner jerk and highly risk averse people (there are better terms for them but....) rather run to the relative safety of high sec, or they place WOW, ST,Diving world or some other terrible game. ED has the same group of people.... just solo mode instead of high sec. So whats the difference?

Eve players don't try to compare two incomparable games... I am starting to think that the eve hate has a lot more to do with the fact that your pod got cracked one to many times.

Oh and just to irritate the haters ... CAREBEAR CAREBEAR CAREBEAR

OH and Sutex, if you had your way you would have everything "HARDCORE MODE" and while you would talk about how bad ass it is, you would still never play because you got tired of dying.

While I somewhat disdain the "its to hard to land in stations" crowd, I equally disdain the Keyboard meatheads who want it HARDCORE, just enjoy the game ... eve was not built in a month ... and neither shalt ED.

Now to add my wishlist.... Station eggs..... BUT pilotable and jumpable or even capitals that you can land in... (something eve has needed for a LONG time)

That will be quite cool. I got my spouse interested in Elite with that. "You can load up a ship with provisions, strike out into the unknown, and blaze a trail!" It will be very cool if, after X amount of scans/visits by explorator ships, you start seeing outposts get built, and factions trying to move in.

Much flak as Frontier has taken over "no offline" play, moving all this off to a server based background sim was a smart idea. Takes advantage of the natural "randomness" of large groups of people, without having to strain home computers trying to simulate.

The sheer amount of infrastructure required to colonise planets or build orbitals is ridiculous, it makes sense that human occupied stars are clustered together and not spread out all over the place.

Growth of star systems and the colonising of new systems just seems to me something this game needs. One person scans a habital planet or completes a trade run, so what. Thousands of people do it, hundreds of times, id like to see a little impact. It shouldn't be something you notice immediately or even on a star by star basis just over the years this game will be played, id like to see actual changes. More high pop systems, more systems, new factions, old factions growing or declining, significant wars, station losses as well as gains.

Still haven't found any Empire systems, though.

You can change your view settings in the galactic map to show only Empire or Alliance systems.

Radio & not all radio waves some bounce back to Earth ie AM, travel at the speed of light , TV , been a stronger signal will travel out , given ED is set in 3300 You should be able to pick up these broadcast where you are :) , if you have a TV on your ship, but people/stations no. On your own out there Maybe you'll find some ALIENS !
