My first 2h open play after 100h solo

I've been smuggling and boosting through the slot before when suddenly out of nowhere a ship has appeared either popping up from just below the toaster or coming from inside the station and from 8KM out where I start my boost run there is no way to really be sure of whats going on in the slot, sounds to me like it happened to you at a very very very busy station, I would think the asp probably did not see you coming out when he originally boosted... you do know how long it takes to slow an asp down from boosting at max pips with A grade thrusters right?

Sure PERHAPS he should not have been boosting in, maybe he was also inexperienced with solo or perhaps he was running class 6 shields so he did not really care... such is life, but if you are going to base open play on 2 hours of a 'bad night' then you have missed the point of open sorry to say... I have been in and out of lave station a few times and when i was going in and out in a viper I had to dodge and weave around ships - both NPC and player ships going through the slot... Seen em stuck on the cattle grid at other stations etc...

Rares trading seems to be the big 'RUSH' at the moment although personally I did it for a few hours the other night and made a couple of million, I can make more hourly credits doing a local trade run in my own system by the time you work out a rares route.

I found it fun tho seeing so many other people flittering about and sat and chatted with a few in SC as well as had some fun interactions with other players as well...


This game is not all about the money you know... :)

You learned more in two hours and two encounters than you did during the 100 hours swaddled in your safety blanket. You've learned that bounty hunting is a competitive profession, if you're some city slicker trader just out for a weekend jaunt to hunt some oiks of course you'll be left by the wayside. Need to step your game up. And you've learned to be careful and mind your surroundings. Your road to becoming ELITE begins here, my friend.

Agreed.. For Open play to work we need:
-Incentive for traders to enter Open Play such as Higher profits than in Solo..
-Protection for traders, such as being able to create Clans/Corps to come to our fellow CMDR's aid..
I'm sorry if this sounds like "Make it like Eve" but seriously, think about it... If all car manufacturers said "ewww! we don't want to use Antilock breaks or Power Steering because that other car manufacturer did..." Then all cars wouldn't have the best ideas that are proven to be essential in all cars..
Its the same with space sims.. Take the things that work in other Sims and bring them into this one! At this time, ED pretty much sucks in its current form.. Sorry but it does... :)

No, just no. This is not what Elite is about. This has nothing to do with awareness of my surroundings. When i am in my car, driving, i also do not expect that the guy in the SUV who just drove passed me suddenly decides to play destruction derby.

What did you expect with this game ? Trading simulator 2014 ? What are you mad about ? That your 2 hours of boring trading got spiced up with Dangerous events ? Whats the point of playing if your gonna a billionaire with your conda in a corner afraid to scratch it. Seriously...i never said that but, Go back to your solo, i dont want whiners in my Awesome Unpredictable Elite Dangerous open play.

When I'm on the road I assume everyone is a potential lunatic, I take nothing for granted because being on a bicycle these people could all quite easily kill me. I also assume every parked car door is about to swing open and that every pedestrian near the side of the road is about to brazenly just stroll into the middle of the road without looking where they're going.

Here's a short protip list what's not griefing:

- someone shooting you
- someone ramming you
- someone saying that "your mom is fat" on comms
- someone stealing your kills

I've just done a trip with rares in an eagle !! Taken what a week maybe 10 hours done a bit of bounty hunting made 70k so far haven't cashed in my exploration data yet though wanting to get a bit of rep from my home station for that. Hey I found a desolate rock run by the green party and a whole string of refining extraction economies with a desperate need for food. i also did a bit of chilling next to totzil lovely planet nice station.

Everything you say is just nonsense. I actually played open because i was hoping for more fun with player pirate interdictions etc., but stupid ramming is not that. It is not dangerous, it is not fun, certainly not worthy of Elite. You don't become Elite by ramming other players.

Space is big, you can avoid it. Practice more maybe. Your 100 hours in solo play made you soft CMDR. Give me 50 and get back to combat.

So you think your post makes more sense ? Judging Open play with only 2 hours of gameplay and then coming on the forum to rant about it. We really dont have the same definition if ''Sense''.


Please go play 100 hours in Open and then ill take you rant seriously.

just because you do not 'expect it' does not mean it 'wont happen' there are plenty of nutters on the road :D it also does not mean he does not decide to change lanes and not see you in his mirror and drives into your car... that never happens does it???
