Have been thinking about it for a while but this vid has pushed me to up my pledge - I'm going to have to pay out loads more for a new machine anyway at some point. The total is moving upwards on the web app so I guess others have had the same idea.

I have wanted to see elite return for so long and seeing that vid solidified the realisation that it is BACK!
This game is going to be simply astounding.

I just watched it again on my Smart TV, and my wife was surprised how good it looked, she then laughed and pointed at me and says 'Look you have tears in your eyes, you big girl!'.
The music was stunning, the firs watch or 2 I didn't notice it,, as it added to the movie perfectly instead of smacking you around the chops with it, which in my mind is how it should be, as a complement to the gameplay etc.
On the TV through my surround system, it sounded EPIC, what brilliant music. I hope the sound track gets released soon...

Yes, it's quite an odd feeling being overwhelmed by this latest vid and yet knowing that all in FD have much shinier baubles that you are marveling over.

One question: I thought that the first release of the game wouldn't have cockpits? Was that something cooked up for just this video? Perhaps I was mistaken.

Like many others I am highly impressed with the music and video. So impressed I sent the link to the Youtube video to friends to check out and they thought it was amazing.
The video is how I have imaged the game to be for the ships and weapons. To see the beams reach out, cutting into a ship, how the ships flew and the explosions and fire etc.... Fun stuff, and visually gripping. It looks FUN!
That is the one thing I was fearful of, the 'realism' crowd will take away the fun aspects, no atmosphere so no fire etc.... Forget that make it FUN and visually exciting as in that video and this will be the game all the rest are measured by and I doubt any will match.
