Community Event / Creation Elite Dangerous: Voice Attack commands, Alpha 4.3 (Cobra MkIII)

Ah, got it now. I had wondered why the pauses were in there. I clearly didn't wonder for long enough to work it out though. LOL

In that case I think I'll use the pause time to manually move to the "Contacts" tab from wherever I last left it. That way, the AI never needs to scare me by moving tabs. :)

Could be solved easily 3 ways that I can see...I reckon 3 is best:
(when I say tabs I mean sub menu's)
1. A key to reset to the 1st tab in the UI menu (or reset the UI's)
2. Have an option (selectable) that resets the UI to the 1st tab when you exit that UI
3. Each of the UI's sub tabs has its own keyboard shortcut (ie contacts is Shift+2, or modules in the right UI is Control+2)

This way you can set every VA or macro command to go directly to that menu directly and not have to worry about the UI's starting location :)

You can assign a key press with VA when you only want it to 'hear' your spoken commands. I use my mouse buttons 4 and 5, one for team chat, the other for the VA commands, but I also use two V.A. commands to tell it to "sleep" (stop listening), and to "wake up" (start listening) which is also useful, that is if you don't want to use a key press for voice activation, or for VA to inadvertently issue a wrong command if you should be team talking.

Oh nice. Thanks.

This is weird.
Last night I successfully implemented the makros for docking request and it worked like a charm 5-6 times until I stopped playing.
Today, it doesn't work anymore.
When I order "Request docking permission", 'she' confirms it , pauses TrackIR and focuses on the left panel for a split second and flips back, so VA skips all the commands.
This is how it looks like:

Also last night, after the docking thingie worked so well, I tried to make a command for silent running as well where 'she' turns off un-necessary sub-systems like cargo hatch and frame shift drive, together with activating silent running.
I had the same problem - she focused the screen but flipped back.
For testing, I raised the pause times until it worked and came to the conclusion that VA needs quite a long pause after the panel was focused.

Thing is, why did it work last night...but not anymore?
I guess it is related to VA, process priority or something like that.
Or it is just my kinda weak computer...

For now, I am clueless what to do. :S

I agree 3 is a good idea. There isn't enough freedom to assign hotkeys. But who knows what's coming in the finished game :)

I've had problems with the head Tracker. Try this in game. press the F9 key to turn of the tracker then straight away press the 1 or 3 to open the UI panel and nothing will happen, I had to press it 3 or 4 times before the UI panel opened. It may have something to do with the F9 press i'm not sure. Also I think the F9 needs a longish press.
Having said that keep an eye on the lights of your Tracker receiver (i'm using Naturalpoint Tracker) If they're not green at the start of the macro then it will turn it on instead of off.

I've had some moments where the macro flicks the display and heads straight back to forward view. I just say the command again.

I noticed the same while configuring the commands!
There seems to be a ~2.5 seconds pause after hitting F9, where other key commands are simply being ignored. This might be related to TrackIR instead of VA or ED.
I put a 2.5 seconds pause to commands where I need to disable TrackIR (panel-handling) and it works fine. Although, the pauses for Q and E (switching through the panel pages) must not be too short as well.

This is far from perfect though, this long pause is kinda annoying, but has to work for now I guess.

I hope the devs will grant us way more direct key commands for many things like turning single systems like shields and drives on/off and especially docking permission.

Stealth mode\All Systems Offline, Zero Power , Zero Heat.

Hey guys I'm relatively new here. I don't mean to jump in on this tread but I have a command for voice attack if anyone would like to try it out.
The command could be edited for your own reasons, depending on the situation. I have done it this way for , let's say, 'Extreme Stealth Tension'. Try it out, or edit it to your liking. Obviously if you are using Track IR you will have to add more actions. The key presses are the default setup for keyboard.
The command executes on the 'Systems panel, Status Tab', then finishes and returns to 'Status TAB', then unfocused to cockpit.
Just to add I'm using this in the default Sidewinder, if you have more modules, some editing is required.

Spoken Command: All power Offline

Description: All Systems Offline, Zero Power , Zero Heat. *Life Support is OFF

Category: Stealth Mode

Actions:
Press 4 key and hold for 0.075 seconds and release,
Say, 'Working',
Pause 0.5 seconds,
Press E key and hold for 0.118 seconds and release,
Pause 0.05 seconds,
Press Space key and hold for 0.159 seconds and release,
Pause 0.04 seconds,
Press S key and hold for 0.139 seconds and release,
Pause 0.04 seconds,
Press Space key and hold for 0.159 seconds and release,
Pause 0.04 seconds,
Press S key and hold for 0.139 seconds and release,
Pause 0.04 seconds,
Press Space key and hold for 0.159 seconds and release,
Pause 0.04 seconds,
Press S key and hold for 0.139 seconds and release,
Pause 0.04 seconds,
Press Space key and hold for 0.159 seconds and release,
Pause 0.04 seconds,
Press S key and hold for 0.139 seconds and release,
Pause 0.04 seconds,
Press Space key and hold for 0.159 seconds and release,
Pause 0.04 seconds,
Press S key and hold for 0.139 seconds and release,
Pause 0.04 seconds,
Press Space key and hold for 0.159 seconds and release,
Pause 0.04 seconds,
Press S key and hold for 0.139 seconds and release,
Pause 0.04 seconds,
Press Space key and hold for 0.159 seconds and release,
Pause 0.04 seconds,
Press S key and hold for 0.139 seconds and release,
Pause 0.04 seconds,
Press Space key and hold for 0.159 seconds and release,
Pause 0.04 seconds,
Press S key and hold for 0.139 seconds and release,
Pause 0.04 seconds,
Press Space key and hold for 0.159 seconds and release,
Pause 0.05 seconds,
Say, 'All Power Offline',
Press Q key and hold for 0.118 seconds and release,
Pause 0.05 seconds, Press 4 key and hold for 0.075 seconds and release

Then, when wanting all systems back online, duplicate the command and change the spoken command to 'All Power Online' and change, 'Say' to 'All Power Online'.
Yes it is a long one lol, but can be modified for a number of scenarios.
Thanks for taking the time to read this...peace out CMDR'S

Thank you all

I didn't want to just take all this help and say nothing

So,

To all those who have posted help, advice, links, profiles etc,

A huge thank you, it may have taken all day but I now have face tracking with a PS3 camera (cost me nothing) and Voice Attack (cost $8 (whatever in GBP)) all up and running. Without your helpful friendly advice I would have never even attempted it.

So cheers, thanks again, very much appreciated.

Thank you! This is very informative.

Hello Folks.

Just a bit of an update on my previous Voice Attack Video. This time flying the Cobra MkIII and using voice commands for supercruise and docking etc. in Alpha 4.3. I'm only using a Thrustmaster T-Flight HOTAS which is probably the best bang-for-your-buck Joystick (but not the best outright) available. However, any limitation on buttons is made up for by using VA.

Happy Hunting Commanders

Hi Everybody.

The voice attack software looks like an intresting piece of software to add to anybodys collection.
For around £5.10p U.K. you cant go wrong really.

All thats left for me to do is to sweet talk our lass into getting it for me on her account as i dont have a credit card lol.

Either way it does look intresting.
I'd heard this mentioned on the STEAM forums some time ago about a few weeks ago.
I think it was on another space sim thread as well, as the guy was having issues with all the controls/cmd's.

Cheers
