Ouch, well there goes my high expectations. I really hope their update schedule isn't just a few bullet points from the DDA every few months. I realize wings could take a lot of work, but I hope I'm surprised with extra content in these updates. Would be a shame to have to wait till next summer for a proper mission system, or Jan. 2016 for mining to be completed.

What game you're playing? I want in.

Cruise control is not autopilot.

Cruise control is a system that helps to control the speed of a vehicle...it doesn't automatically drive it for you.

Put the throttle in the blue zone in ED = cruise control

Ahh, yes! That is what I keep forgetting. Now I see why it's such a big update. I wonder how gameplay is going to change when people can form groups and jump together (escorted traders, pack of bounty hunters, pack of pirates).

Thank you for refreshing my memory, now i have much to think about..

Yes, it will be a very big leap forward. The galaxy goes much to win in terms of dynamism and immersion

GOOD SO ... how stupid would be that, strange what some players want ...

Not really. At least from my POV. I play in the Oculus Rift (ED is an amazing experience with it, possibly the best one) but I'm starting to get seriously bored. There is too little to do when "cruising" because the game is so incomplete. I want to be able to review my trading history, compare markets at the stations I've just visited, look for trends and opportunities where I can stick my oar in for a profit. I want to review the news for the system I'm in, and wider. I want to be able to browse my exploration data/map and see what routes I can fly to visit the unexplored systems... guess how much of that I can do? And how does that relate to a sort of autopilot? Well, if all that was in the game then the long, dull as ditchwater, slowdown in supercruise to destination could be appended with a very simply "autostop". So you'd still have to set your course and speed, the only difference would be the auto-pressing of one single button to exit supercruise! That's how I see an "autopilot" - something that frees you from an easy, dull mechanism to do things which are actually interesting and productive. Without actual content though, it's a moot point. But I wouldn't call the request for it stupid by any means. :)

The autopilot would be nice just for automating the process of jumping through several systems in order to reach the destination. Nothing less, nothing more.

I don't want it to pilot the ship for me. I don't want it to avoid interdictions for me. I don't want it to combat for me. I just want it to help me with the tedious, repetitive, boring process of jumping one system after another after another... until I reach the destination several jumps away.

If some people don't like it, the solution is simple: don't use it. But please give the rest of us that option. It's pretty simple, isn't it.

This is also my opinion. It`s extremely boring to turn around the ship several times to aim the next System in line of the target System ... :( There must be a better solution to travel between Starsystems ....

I'm fairly ambivalent about auto-pilot - it'd be nice but I'm not that fussed. But the discussion has made me wonder why so many people are interested in controlling how other people play the game. No-one has yet suggested that auto-pilot is forced on others. If you didn't want it you could just not use it. Yet many have complained. Makes no sense to me. Then again many things in this forum don't.

Might have been mentioned before.

"As you all know we’re also working on paid expansions for the game and these will have their own beta periods as well, we’ll again make details available of how this will work as we near their release."

Does this mean as an Alpha backer I still have to pay for future expansions??

Alpha backers would have the lifetime pass already.

Travel log? Balance sheet

Well done on the news. Looking forward to it. Can you guys implement a log of places we have visited, even if it is a trail on the nav map that can be enabled to view the traveled locations and maybe a balance sheet of how credits were made(Expenses and income). It's nice to keep track of where i made the most profit .

Mining has a lot of pirates lately cant mine for long periods and it would be great to be able to scoop up large amount of material more efficiently, like a vacuum cleaner.

A trail of visited sytems maybe

Any plans on maually expanding the universe over time in response to player activity, maybe a few new settlements a week that make the galnet news

Michael,

I mainly got the game for its DK2 support. Can you she'd some light on when we might see some updates for it? Optimizations, galaxy map issues, etc?
