I like that the Dolphin and Orca classes are called yachts![]()
Hi John,
We have not yet announced all of the playable ships that will be in the final game, but there will be 25 available at launch. The ones we have shown or mentioned so far:
I don't think I have missed any out, so basically we have announced just under half of the ships that will be in the game at launch so far.
- Adder
- Viper
- Sidewinder
- Anaconda
- Asp
- Eagle
- Panther Clipper
- Imperial Cutter
- Dolphin Class Yacht
- Orca Class Yacht
- Another unnamed Passenger-class ship
- 'Freighter 3'
Hmmm, not deliberately forgetting the Cobra Mk 3 are you? though as it's a starter ship for several pledge levels, I'd assume that would make it confirmed![]()
Dammit Ashley, I knew we forgot something!

damn, i forgot that it was a part of some of the pledge tiers! Well that's my fun over...
Well hopefully it's the Boa or even the Python...?Is 'Freighter 3' really going to be it's final name?
Is 'Freighter 3' really going to be it's final name?
Perhaps Freighter 3 IS the Cobra mkIII
Yes, I was just joking.http://elite-dangerous.wikia.com/wiki/Freighter_3
Judging by the design, I don't think so. The Cobra Mk III is the Cobra Mk III and should look the part. Gods how I've missed that ship. I can't wait to fly her again and later on even walk around her. Ahhh! It's been too long.
I didn't know that we'd be able to possibly get a Cutter, though? That's very cool, I can't wait to see how that'll work out.
So, is the F63 Condor not playable?
Ok, thanks for the clarification. I was looking back through the newsletters for something else and came across it.No it won't be playable, at least not at launch. The Condor is the Federation's counterpart to the Imperial Fighter, which means it is only a short-distance fighter. That means no jump drive and very limited storage capacity.
