T9 with 4.5m gold on board, docked in a station. Select launch and the phone goes. Hit ESC to pause the game and while Im on the phone the station kills my T9. 5.2m insurance and 4.5m lost stock and I'm suddenly down nearly 10m. In hindsight I know why, but jeez guys this is a game and real life sometimes takes precedence. If Im in ESC or PAUSE how about you actually pause the game?

Because it's an online game, and you probably would have to pause the whole server?

Its pretty obvious nothing 'pauses', what you do is log off. Problem solved, you will spawn outside of the station. How did you get to a t9 not knowing this?

There is no pause..it is a real time game Solo or Online mode. To truly pause what you are doing you have to "Save and Exit". This is basically one of those games where you have to be eyes and hands on at all times..or bad happens.

You can't. You could quit and then reload when you get back, but I don't know what that will do to your progress. It's all part of the benefits of a persistant online connection model!

I know I can quit, it was an important phone call and I couldn't afford to miss it so I didn't get the opportunity. Of course you cant pause the whole game, but you could pause a players participation in it, make them invisible, park them somewhere, a dev could come up with several workable ideas. It isn't the first time Ive lost a ship because of some non obvious thing brutally slaying me. Just peeved that's all, 2 hours worth grinding wiped out

I'd suggest the game having a configurable PAUSE key would mean that the fact it doesn't actually pause when you press it is pretty non obvious, wouldn't you?

I don't know. I suppose it would, though it never ever came to my mind in the first place because, again, pausing an online game.....

Nope, you will spawn 10 km outside the station when you relogin.
