In the beta core systems the announcer in LP-198 (?, the anarchy one anyway) and Wyrd sounded Soviet to me.

Japanese is softer and more melodic. Chinese is harsher. More gutteral and sharper.

Of course, it might just be an impression. In which case it might be Notrealese.

I know, I'm fluent in Mandarin. The woman in Empire stations sounds remarkably Cantonese to me.

Federation Station Voice: Sarah Newbold
Empire Station Voice: Haruka Kuroda
Alliance Station Voice: Matthew Florianz
Anarchy Station Voice: Kobna Holdbrook

For sure Haruka Kuroda is Japanese, but I'm not sure if she's modifying her accent for the voice work.

Everything about ED's audio is awesome. The excellent score, the ambient sounds, and the voice work. Cracking job.

It is actually Swedish

But more creepy I noticed that the background talking stuff ( at least in Beta, at Vonnarburg, i think , ) WAS in fact swedish, I could make out a few words

So the Swedes made into space....

( I am Danish ., btw

Do they do all the voices in the stations? I'm sure I've heard other languages in some stations.

The station voices really give great atmosphere to those stations. One of the 'wow!' moments for me when entering them.

Wonder no more - just read a couple of posts above yours ..... That particular artist is Matthew Florianz. I believe he's also provided some music for ED. See his website for more info.
