Who is happy they didn't buy it?

Did you just dare to claim that only people who *buy* the game has a right to complain about its offensive DRM? Wow just wow.

Whats next ? Only people who buy xx expensive car can say it's crap?

You miss something. If FDEV would make an offline mode now, they would flip flop there decision. But they already flip flopped their decision when they decided not to make an offline mode.

ONE DOES NOT SIMPLY FLIP FLOP AN ALREADY FLIP FLOPPED DECISION!

I am extremely happy that I DID buy this game. I sunk an insane number of hours into playing Frontier back on my old Amiga. I loved that game so damn much! I always longed for a sequal. Something with the same spirit of exploration, combat and trading, but with the improved graphics and features that todays PC's can provide.

I would have bought this game if it was 10 times it's current price! That's how much I wanted it! And I have not regretted purchasing it for a single second :)

Oh I do enjoy Pengo and so do many other people are you somehow implying if a person likes retro games like Pengo they are somehow idiots or something? The tone at which you put that statement would suggest so.

I'm not implying that they're idiots. Read what you want into the rest.

Thanks for reminding me, I must register on all the forums of games I didn't buy last year and tell them why I didn't buy them. Can't think of a better use of my time :)

And here is the first person to mention torrents congrats.

I have thousands of pounds in my bank and could buy the game at any moment hell I might buy just and post the screenshot just to satistify you then continue to talk about how the DRM is nasty as the game is abandoned on the steam folder.

However that would only give you some kind of sick and twisted satisfaction in your mind as you would think you just *owned* me.

I'll take that as a yes

What a stupid thing to say. How on Earth can someone judge a game they have not played?

Dear FD, these forums are getting full of kids now and it is getting quite annoying with silly comments like this.
Can we do something about it please like asking them politely to go away and play something less demanding for them like 'flappy bird'?

Thanks :)

Anyhow I got better things to do than feed the militant trolls of this forum as I stated I am not interested in games that are ONLINE ONLY and as I also stated it is a major disappointment that Elite has taken to this.

Have a good day trolls!

(FYI internet in UK is hardly 24/7 it goes off at least several hours to 1-2 days a month imagine being in middle of something important in ED when that happens? oh yea! and thats the UK try living in Uganda where governemnt has to cut off the power every odd day....)

This is a new troll tactic, at least to me: Don't buy the game, and then jump on official forums lamenting state of the game despite self-proclaimed lack of first hand experience with same, but expressing relief that the game was not bought nor experienced. 10/10 for effort! Now go away and do something productive with your time.

Personally, I LOVE it.

Threads like this make me want to ragequit :D

I'm so angry at the moment

how dare they bring such an iconic game like this and make me spend hours upon hours of playing it.

I'm sick of it.

Why do they make me play this damn game?

FD I hate you, I hate you long time, £50 long time. :p

It wasn't fiction for the SimCity players, playstation players at christmas and countless other instances.

Ok you've had your fun and said your piece. And it just so happens I agree with you. But thats the gaming industry we have. Its democracy and market forces at work. You cant argue against progress you just have to ride along with it. Otherwise you get stuck playing Penga for the rest of your life wiling the hours dreaming of the old world when Amigas were king and all games worked on release. This is the world we live in where games are online and can be patched every hour if necessary. It is both good and bad. Some people will use it to make easy money of duff products, some will utilise it well and create better products because of it. Thats life. And its always been like that. It wont change. If you dont like it its time to get a new hobby.

I'm sure it is but a game that you cant play when your internet is down (which is often) and most importantly a game you cant play if the company goes bankrupt....

That not something I agree with.

Many games nowadays require a online connection to play even when they are single player games, from my understanding it prevents (or at least cuts down on) people stealing the game thus ripping the developer off of their hard earned cash. This is the world we live in, deal with it, or hook your old commodore 64 and just keep on living in the past. I was upset about the need to be online for most single player games when I noticed it at first too, but that was over a decade ago. I got over it and so will you.
