And here is the first person to mention torrents congrats.

I have thousands of pounds in my bank and could buy the game at any moment hell I might buy just and post the screenshot just to satistify you then continue to talk about how the DRM is nasty as the game is abandoned on the steam folder.

However that would only give you some kind of sick and twisted satisfaction in your mind as you would think you just *owned* me.

People are allowed to voice their opinions (maybe it's unfortunate but, hey.. internetz). I sympathize with the OP.
I bought the game. Played maybe 10 hours. Waiting for the game to mature and get more fleshy, and waiting for player grouping in particular.
I did not however, expect stations to switch what they bought and sold (bad patch?), but that's another discussion.

I wouldn't call the game for a scam but at the moment it reminds me of an Ubisoft release. :)

I am sorry, regardless of what you think about a game, this is just a nonsense statement.

A close friend, thanks to BT being their usual selves, was without any internet connection for three and half weeks over Christmas. I asked him how he had coped and he said he had been playing the couple of games that he had that didn't require him to be online to play. Elite would not have been one of them.

Think before you speak, mate.

Frontier has become nothing but $$$ greed and did not deserve the money they got.

Of course Frontier can change things go back to what was promised and make everybody happy again including me.

This is the kind of bull I expect from EA... Not Frontier not a game we waited about 2 decades for... For shame Frontier for shame.

Oh I do enjoy Pengo and so do many other people are you somehow implying if a person likes retro games like Pengo they are somehow idiots or something? The tone at which you put that statement would suggest so.

And also, why would anyone that didn't buy it go on to post on a forum of a game that they didn't buy?

This reminds me of the last scene of the movie A Few Good Men where Tom Cruise get 2 witnesses whose sole purpose were to testify that they don't know the anything about the case.

Actually this is quite funny. For years i've been a strong proponent of games not requiring any sort of online authentication. Multiplayer games that don't allow LAN were a particular target of mine. Gamespy became my avowed enemy when they shut down servers that provided matchmaking ability for LAN play (or more to the point those publishers/developers that actually signed up for this !).

However, when ED came out and said "online only", i bent over and took it like a good little choirboy.

Life is strange.

Oh yeah, enjoying the game thoroughly.
