But,
Has anyone actually bought a new ship at Founders World since 1.05? And if you did, did you get the 10% discount or not?
Yes, and yes.

I've equipped my ship without actually visiting founders world yet (although I've used its star to jump in and out of a few times whilst on my way elsewhere). If I sold my A-rated equipment at another location and then came back here, I could buy them at a lower cost? I assume this also then means that they would sell for less if I changed them at a later date, but that isn't a problem.
More cash in my pocket now is better than less cash given later.
Next question then, if I sell an A1 item in founders world, will I get its full value back that I paid for it, and allow me to buy it again at the -10% price? that would be preferable to selling it in another system, jumping across without it and then buying it at founders world...
That's exactly right. Only the advertised price for the ship is wrong (you get charged full price).

Yes, but only after the rebuy option expires. While rebuy is active, you can only rebuy it at the same price you sold it for. But basically you can sell your modules at night, log off, and come back in the morning to buy the -10% ones. (Note that this is not an exploit and does not make you any profit, it's simply another way of replacing modules with discounted ones compared to selling them off at another system.)
Assuming all the modules exist in Shinrarta, yes.
Surely it would still make me a profit though? I paid 1.6M for a module in another location, I sell it back for 1.6M and then re-buy it the following morning at 1.44M. Isn't that a profit of 160k per item (original price -10%)?
Not really a profit because when you sell these discounted modules some time in the future, you will only get the discounted price. So all in all, you pay the same.
Agreed. But my analogy does mean I get more cash in the short term? It is especially of benefit if I decide to keep this ship and then invest in a larger ship at a later date, buying modules/ship in Shinrarta and never selling those on my current ship.

I see in Patch 1.05 they reckon they have addressed the ship discount problem, but according to M.B.'s reply on the thread they have no plans to refund those who were cheated out of their un-discounted credits. Great company aren't they, NOT.
Information has already been published that the visible 10% ship discount that didn't work was unintended. Post 1.05 they decided to implement the 10% discount. Nobody was 'cheated' out of any credits and therefore there was no need to refund credits.
You can get a one-off amount of cash, yes, but it's just getting back cash that you spent elsewhere. You spent a million on a gadget, you sell it for a million and replace it for 900k. It's hard to describe that as "it would still make me a profit".
