Please fix the Alt F4 exploit

Well, in the current state, it's often the only p2p connection on the router. It's not like you often have dozens of them.

Because of the method they have chosen to implement you can make a firewall rule that will instantly drop everyone from your instance without effecting anything else.

Planetside 2 is heavily client sided, and they fixed it.
And please stop trying to justify cheating with "oh but PVP wasn't the main focus". That's completely beside the point. Whether or not PVP is the main focus, it is an aspect of the game, and as such it must be working as intended. With the logging problem, it can fundamentally not work as intended.

Getting killed in Planetside 2 costs about 7 seconds of your time, that's all. Getting killed in Elite can undo several hours of work. It's not a good example nor would it "fix" the "problem".

PVP isn't the main focus of Elite and it never can be. Stop crying for PVP to take precedence over other dominant aspects of the game.

I paid whatever I paid in beta to focus on whatever the hell I feel like.

Sure, but that doesn't really solve the problem. It IS an element of the game and it's being circumvented.

The fact is there are several ways to play without PVP - you can play solo or in a large PVE group. You can trade away from the starter areas (I forget how many times I've posted about how I've yet to have someone interdict me after trading in open since launch). What I don't understand is why people play in open if the threat of being interdicted and killed or robbed by a player is such a major concern.

And please note I am in no way suggesting that they don't have the right to play in open. I just don't understand. What's the appeal? Why open and disconnect the moment you're put in a position where combat is possible rather than say the mobius PVE group which is at something like 4k players* now?

(*I think. Saw someone post that number today, no idea how accurate it is)

Until fixed there are really only two ways to combat this issue.
1. Report anyone who drops connection while in combat. If the same player gets reported enough times I'm sure FD will move them to solo or an instance with fellow combat loggers so they can all log on each other to their hearts content.
2. Outfit your ship with high burst damage weapons such as missle racks and proton torps and simply DPS each player you pull out before they have time to react or pull the plug.

I totally missed the purple and pink polka dotted elephant that wasn't in my backyard this evening. Very disappointing.

ED is not an MMO, so you can't expect them to follow MMO rules.

If you want a game with PvP that makes sense and where the opponent can't combat log, then this is NOT the game for you and you should probably leave and play something else.

Willing? Its been happening since before Xmas and even in Beta ROFL You seem to think it just started... Its been happening since way before the game launched.
