Hahah thanks guys!
Well, Shyeer, sounds like you and me are pretty similar.. Im 36 now, been playing PC games (i am NOT nor have i ever been a console fan after the NES) since I was 12.. Microprose F-117A got me into gaming early and I have never looked back since.
While im considered an "oldie" now by most gamers, my tastes in games has also evolved in them which means I am not easily impressed when something new comes out. This includes working in IT for most of my life and being a former game developer.
Which is really WHY I decided to pull the trigger.. Its been a long time since ive purchased anything thats really given me that "Wow" factor.. even with Nvidia 3d years ago when it game out it was "okay" but gimmicky.. Im hoping to have that sence of "okay this is cool" again with the DK2.
So When I "review" it, its not going to be from a technical stand.. I understand its a development kit, and if the resolution isnt the up-most best, or whatever, Ill understand that its slotted to get better.. instead i hope to review it from an avid gamer standpoint, and from the experience alone. Does it make me WANT to play more? does it get me involved with the game more.. does it really give me a sense of "being there".. Is it practicle in some games (i couldnt imagine playing DCS-A10 with it.. it would be great to fly, but next to impossible to hit the right key combos for all the equipment since you cant see anything.. )
So Yeah.. Im sure i will recommend anyone whos thinking about using it FOR gaming to wait for the CV1... but i think that even within the 6-8 more months we wait for the CV1 (and thats if they release on time), it will be worth the 350 to "try it out" and decide if its worth keeping as a regular gaming piece, or something that ends up sitting on the shelf 90% of the time..
Basically, im buying the DK2, in order to trial the tech, to see if I will want the CV1
