Beta 1.1 comments for non beta players

So far it sounds very good indeed.

I'm curious about the Extraction Zone changes, will the zones disappear after a day or so or will they just spawn less and less ships if you farm it every day.

When will it be available for non beta testers

Does anyone have a clue on how long it will be before this is up for general download have friends that did not beta :-( and would love them to join the party :)

When can we expect the Fer de Lance do you guys think?

(Not that I don't think todays release is packed full of great content :D )

So, you're telling me that players wanting to "pirate" are now subjected to an extra fine on top of their assault (and potentially murder) fines when dealing with uncooperative players?

What about the alt-f4 majority? .

We have been duly warned.

Alt-F4 is being monitored and punishment will come accordingly... and FD have shown that they mean to follow through on punishments.

Do the Logoffski at your own peril now, just don't come onto the forums and whine about it later when you're busted.

Sorry, not sure if I read the other posts correctly and am new player but are the players who were in the beta got this update today and the rest wait a couple weeks to get new update(s)?

We (previous betas) got it today, but in a separate universe, so we'll only get it for our main commanders when you do, expected to be 1-2 weeks I believe.

What is this related to? Is this to prevent bounty hunters from farming NPCs in rings?

"- Prevent infinite stream of pirates in extraction zones"

If you go into resource extraction sites with anything in your cargo hold you'll get a steady stream of pirates coming in and scanning you. It was a good way to hunt bounties and have the prey come to you. It was the only way to make a reasonable amount of credits doing bounties without wasting a whole lot of time searching for multiple locations for wanted ships. You still couldn't make anywhere near as much money as through trading, but it was OK. It seems Frontier wants trading to be the only viable way to make a living.

I know, but they also said those who don't have access to beta will be able to purchase it if they want. I was just wondering when that will happen. If not, I'll wait a week for the patch to actually release. ^^

This is written on the launcher for 1.1

"Access to this Beta is only available to players who backed the game before release at Alpha and Beta stages."

T'was an impressive list of much needed tweaks and changes alright. Good to see, hope the rest are like it.

Making interdiction a crime came out of the blue a bit though, why did they decide to do that? How are we meant to random stop'n'scan people for non-local bounties or illegal goods? It's pretty easy for criminals to just never visit a place they're wanted in again, big galaxy and all.

Also the beta discussion forum is visible to me and I'm not a backer, is this intended?

What about the alt-f4 majority? Now, pirates must deal with their targets' incredibly easy access to escape (ending the process, or simply initially submitting and flying away). Do you get multiple fines for successive interdixtions against a single target? What about fines accrued without any chance to recoup them on the target being interdicted (due to their ending the process)? Should pirates be subjected to thousands of credits worth of extra fines while they are already unable to earn anything more chump change from stolen goods, assuming they're able to earn any, AT ALL?

Seems to me like a poorly thought-out change that's only going to further deter piracy, leaving only 2 or 3 ways to play the game.

Revert it. It doesn't make any effective change for the better - those whom want to grief will interdict and fire regardless of fines. Those whom want to play the game fairly, however disadvantaged they may be in doing so, are being beaten with the bat, instead.

Tragedy of it all is that no one on these forums seems to care, so long as their trade runs are undisrupted - "Screw the other guy, at least I got mine" seems to be the dominant ideology here.

Interdicting is the 3300 equivalent of forcing a car off the road and searching it for goodies at gun point!. Of course it should be a crime unless you have a licence or your target is a criminal. It costs the victim time and potentially money. It was madness that this was not a crime from the get go. It also allows the victim to have an edge in a fight which is vital given the pirate is the one starting this issue with potentially the stronger ship. They should not get to start the fight as well

OTOH to make piracy more viable there should be pirate bases where with the correct reputation you can sell your loot at closer to full price than the black market.

Interdiction is an aggressive act and should be treated as such
