And yes psykokow, you're right that I am addicted to writing drabbles even if you did not like that one I blame your brother for coming up with the topic - it was a difficult one to base in the Elite universe.

Hagrim awoke.
“What’s this?”
Cold. Dark.
A complex slab, glowing with light drawn images.
A flock of metal birds hung in the endless black.
Comprehension fled, like Tiberius in search of Capri.
He pounded his fist on the slab. It flashed. Urgent. Angry.
What witchcraft was this?
A pitted black grill before him crackled.
A voice rose up like a ghost on the wind.
“Commander?”
Hargrim regarded the grill with deep suspicion.
“We’re ready to attack, sir!”
Attack?
Finally a concept the dwarf could grasp.
“For glory!!” he roared, and the blackness around him erupted in a cataclysm of fire.

"Ah T.j!"... not hearing his name T.j continues to sway off towards the horizon. I decide not to burst his bubble and leave him to enjoy his misunderstood moment under the twinkling stars.
So, congratulations CdrTwisted and DocStone! Two very good drabbles there and I'm glad that we've got an easy topic this week. Erm... "2-1"... easy? yeah right. If it had been "2-2" I could've put Psykokow in a frock and sent him out to dance the sugarplum fairy.

Thanks Kate. It was a great reading, but I do like to have the words in front of me as well so I can savour every metaphor. It helps me appreciate how well it's written
