Sweet thread :)

I was curious to all those who are using dual monitors, with game on one and windows (browser, etc in the other) int he other.. does this cause you lag issues? I have tried to use extended desktops and it seems when I do this my framerates drops (not just in Elite..but any game)

I run a GTX 780 so shouldn't be having that problem.

I have dual-monitor and play Elite in borderless mode. I haven't had any framerate issues.

Alright......show me your cockpits...(god help me...)

My current subterranean lair (converting the basement).
You can see my copilot, sharp eyed and alert. Calls for coordinates are immediately responded to with belches of dog gas, or yipping and flailing of legs as he chases enemies in some alternate dreamverse.

Nice cockpit. My guess, looking at all that glass and sharp corners, is that this is a child free environment... You lucky, lucky, luck luck luck...

Nice setup, I notice most keep the joystick and throttle on the desk, does this not get uncomfortable after a while? I prefer keeping mine low down to the side, fighter jet style.

My girlfriend would be incredibly embarrassed if she knew I just took a picture of my computer! Setup is complete chaos since I moved it, wires everywhere :/ Only 4 weeks left to mess around with it and tidy up the man cave, then back to London UK for 5 months

Thought it would be fun to see people share their specs and desk... So I'll start with mine.

1 x Dell Ultrasharp U3415W curved monitor w/IPS Panel, running 3440x1440
1 x Lenovo LT2452pwC (Vertical, for reader friendlyness) w/IPS panel, running 1200x1920

Asus Strix 970GTX card
i4790K cpu
16gig ram

Saitek X55 HOTAS
Logitech 5.1 Surround Speaker set
Logitech G510s keyboard
Logitech G700s mouse

And the computer itself is hidden away below the desk, very silent, with Antec Kühler 650 water cooling on the CPU, and put into a Corsair case like this:

That's a nice rig--- really like that little Corsair case

I use a couple of mini clamps to hold my stick and throttle down! It only clamps at the back desk edge of course but its enough.

I have been looking for mounts like the defunct joyloc,, (and experimenting with making up something similar, from bits I can find in the garage!!) but the closest I can find are some "ergonomic type things" they look like they would do the job, but cost £200 each !! because the have the word ergonomic in their product name, that's about than half way to a r3volution !!

So for now I have 3 monitors/trackir and the X55 on the desk.

I also have a G13 and G19. G13 originally has a profile for flight and gui with the mouse btton to shift quickly between the two. Not using that much anymore since you can bind the GUI to the hotas at the same time as binding the keys to other functions.

I have a spare base plate for the x65f if you want it. Mine is screwed down so I do not need the base plate. Not sure why the x65f does not come with two plates anyhow.
