Mercenaries of Mikunn - The Background Simulation and Colonization Test

Finally made it to the Mikunn system in my sidewinder (don't ask how many jumps and fuel-scooping-runs I had to do) so write me up. I'll start helping out the dukes through missions.

But what is our next move?
If we lower too much the Law Party, they may enter into civil war with HR Dynamic, and if HR Dynamic wins Gabriel's station, that will be harder for us to win it I think.

I'm a bit lost here...

I figure out next move will depend on when and what the fix is over the Civil War situation by the devs. Assuming they reset it, and we go to Civil War, we should obviously first focus on winning Gabriel Station. That means we need to do combat bonds to move Influence / Win. After that, we'll be in Civil War Cool Down, and won't be able to take Friend Enterprise for at most 25 days (shorter if the Cool Down period is shortened, as expected). At that point, we can push for Expansion and/or start working on Influence against Dynamic Commodities so we can get Civil War Critical, and pop into Civil War when the cool-down ends. It might be a good idea to wait a little while on that, since we think Civil War is suppose to be triggered by changes in the differences between faction Influence. We need to have 2 Civil Wars to get HR 7327 from Dynamic Commodities, so we should probably increase our Influence until we get Civil War Critical, then try to hold it there or just above there.

Michael Brookes also mentioned the other way to get Civil War is if one Faction gets a high enough Influence Level. So I'd guess we can always trigger than 2nd one when we hit this thresh hold. The problem is, we don't know what that is. 70%? 80%? 90%? It may be easier to just do it by increasing over Dynamics twice. We got Civil War Critical after a 15% gain over Law Party. If that's what it takes, it may be easier to do that twice over Dynamic Commodities.

If on the off chance they leave it unresolved and leave us in Civil War Cool Down without having actually been in a Civil War...I don't know. Submit tickets?

Replying to this again. I looked at the gains Dynamic Commodities had on Law Party, and at first it dropped, then when we started the blockade, Law Party dropped, so the Law Party to Dynamic gap started to widen, and it got worse as Dynamic started to raise influence. If we look at when the queue went in on the 15th until today, Dynamic gained only about 8%. But if you look from the lowest point, right before we started the blockade, it's about 15%, which may be how much it took us to get Civil War Critical Pending / Civil War Pending.

Influence Difference with HRDC vs LPHR.jpg

Edit: I realized I had the Y-axis scale wrong. It's worse than I thought. It's almost 15% from the 15th (13.4%). It's at 20.1% from the 19th. If this keeps up, Dynamic may go to Civil War and get Gabriel. In that case, we should fight Dynamic ships.

We should probably start targeting BOTH Dynamic Commodities and Law Party authority ships at their respective stations to keep their Influences from rising. Probably with a focus on Dynamic Commodities, as driving Law Party down will mostly help Dynamic Commodities.

Its simple: we keep trying. Its clear that there will be more bugs.

The fact that Devs are still talking to us so much and so often tells me that this kind of back and forth is encouraged and even necessary to move past any initial release flaws and into new creative content. It also says that the team is standing behind their product, which is good news for us.

So keep space truckin. It may be too early to say if this experiment will succeed, but it's about the journey here anyway.

I simply overreacted ^^

I didn't even have you in mind, when I wrote that.

Is there a way to simply raise our influence and lower everyone else's equally?

Or we could jsut focus on killing every dynamic ship we see while delivering to gabriel.

The traders could do back stab delivery missions for dynamic commodities.

Adding you

Edit: I already had you added for some reason

Dear fellow Mercs,

i have stated previously that I am working on our website. Its a Forum website where we will be able to coordinate our efforts with more detail, of course we will keep posting in the official forums, but in order to archive a better structured development I thought about having our own "members only" club.

The Forum will be divided into a Public area, with regular information about us and a small beginners guide to Mikunn.

The Members only section will contain subsections for the different tasks and playstyles, e.g. Combat, Trading, Pirating, Mining and Exploring. This will help us to divert our efforts into small units and keep a better overview about what we are doing.

If someone help me a bit on the structure or give me some feedback, please contact me via PM on this forum and I can add some more people to it.

Once the layout (colour) and structure is setup I will allow user registration, which of course needs to approved by us.

Here is a quick link to the work on the site:

I'll send you something on the structure today, but I got pulled away. I have some business things I absolutely must get done today, but I promise I will get to it.

Sounds like a plan. This shouldn't be a problem, since we seem to be able to still land at hostile stations. Shouldn't we also hit Friend Station to be more effective? I recall, when blockading we mostly kill authority ships, and between the traders and authority, we tended to drop that factions Influence. Since we're not sure if it's killing authority vessels (affecting security) or traders, we should definitely kill both to be sure. I recall Michael Brookes mentioning killing traders doesn't have an Influence effect unless it's part of a kill traders mission. Not sure why the same doesn't hold true for authority vessels, but it could be an indirect effect from lowering the security of the faction.

Yeah, that works too.

I saw this a few weeks back, but due to time constraints I was unable to join then and there. Glad to see this is still going, and now you can count me in this! I'm already in Mikunn doing combat mission in a Viper. Anything else I should be doing? And also, where is the nearest outfitting yard with good array of equipment that I can use? It was my understanding that the shipyards in HR would only help our enemies, and not the dukes.
