I didn't have enough to cover my losses and have to go back to the sidewinder
We've not had one of these in a while...
They were all the rage 3 weeks ago.
I didn't have enough to cover my losses and have to go back to the sidewinder
I see three mistakes.
I hope they do include you in the refunds but I have to be honest and say that if it was me that was making the decision it'd be limited to rebuy costs and cargo not whole ships because you thought it was a good idea to fly uninsured.
I worked crazy hard since christmas to get that far and i just feel too jaded to go back to square one for a long time especially for something that wasn't my fault.
I think you should replace DON'T FLY WHAT YOU CAN'T BUY with DON'T FLY WITHOUT ENOUGH TO PAY THE INSURANCE. The OP was obviously flying a ship he could afford to buy, or he wouldn't have been flying it, he just didn't make sure he had enough credits in cash to cover the insurance and to re-buy his cargo in case of a disaster.DON'T FLY WHAT YOU CAN'T BUY
I was going slowly and carefully to avoid any collisions because I knew of this bug.
Indeed .. something I do myself whilst waiting for FD to add it in, which will not be any time soon.
Had about 7 deaths so far ... gutted after the last one - bagged a 5.5m bounty; the Feds loved me; deleted ...

Before the 1.1.0.2 patch, I had two T-6's, each with 104t of expensive cargo, destroyed by T-9's coming from behind and beneath me in the Spaceport as I was leaving. I was going slowly and carefully to avoid any collisions because I knew of this bug. I was at least fortunate enough to have 23 million credits to easily cover the cost of the insurance (116,392cr) and re-buying the cargo.
I am so thankful I learned the lesson of not flying without insurance back when I was flying my free Sidewinder with only a few upgrades. Although it hurt to have re-buy my upgrades when I had very little money, it was still a hard lesson. Just not as hard as it would have been if I had lost a more expensive ship like a totally tricked out ASP worth 15 million.
In my Python I deliberately run over and smash smaller NPC ships that dawdle in (or near) the entrance - moving slow is annoying, and not boosting when the way is clear should be a crime.God know how many dockings and undockings in a 6, 7, and clipper and never an issue. The key isn't always going slow and careful, but fast when there is an opening.
While in a seeking good instance i got near the lakon 9 to scan it and got rammed and my 15Mil+ asp(with upgrades) got destroyed. Basically I didn't have enough to cover my losses and have to go back to the sidewinder. Seriously there should be an option to have a more aggressive percentage off earnings to pay off bigger loans etc
At the very least people here must agree that loans should scale with the players assets etc.
I don't understand why people don't keep their old ships. The credits invested are negligible compared to the next larger ship, and if you happen to blow up your Asp you can at least go back to your Cobra/T6/Viper.
But in the end it's just like in real life: If you don't have stuff insured you don't get it replaced. Plain and simple.

i had that window bug but in my case if i play full screen after 5 to 15 min it just drops to a windows screen and i have to shake the mouse to get elite back on, strange thing is that if i play in a window this does not happen
