I use a 9150 now but it's really just because it needs play-testing more. I've got a 6050 still, never had issues with it, but if the minor additional expense isn't a blocker then yes, the 9150 is the way forward. It's just less far less hassle long-term, makes our life easier as the calibration is so much simpler we just get less queries about it. But this doesn't make the 6050 defunct by any stretch, there's still plenty of people using them.

Yes. I've been using a 9150 for months without issues. At first I took a bit of a punt on Pocketmoon's ability to develop mag compensation, but he aced it luckily, the UI and calibration is all up to date and working in a user-friendly way, tracking performance is good.
If I was making or buying a new one it would be 9150 all the way. But if your 6050 works OK the benefit is really just the lack of yaw drift set against the additional cost of desoldering and replacing the 6050 with the 9150 board, or buying a whole new tracker.
If yaw drift bothers you enough to justify the extra cost and effort, go for it.

Ok I must be doing something wrong. All soldered up fine, detected, followed calibration instructions. Note mpu9150 version

The issue I am having is it is all or nothing, as in the headlook goes all the way on the axis (up, down, left right) in ED when I reach the crossover point between moving and not moving. Could someone please point me in the right direction?

Hi guys received my 9150 tracker two days ago, just a few start problems but now working beautifully.

Ok so I figured it out I had the directions bound in ED as the buttons rather than the axis. (had the same problem with my joystick earlier) - Feeling very green

When attaching the EDTracker to your head phones don’t forget to make a strain relief for your USB cabal (tape the cabal to the head band) all pulling and tugging should be at the strain relief and not at the delicate USB port.

PS: The cabal between the Tracker and the strain relief should be relaxed, (not pulling and not pushing).

Question for Brumster and Pocketmoon.
I've got a 9150 based ED Tracker thats running the latest (well it was about a week ago) code "EDTrackerMag V4.0.1

While it works fine most of the time are you aware of the 48 hour bug that the code seem to have?
After about that length of time being powered up it gets sleep fatigue and will start to twitch about and pull back to center when you try to look at the side menus :(

Its also important, i've found, before you try and use it, to make sure its in its upright position and perform the Bias Calc. It autocalibrates after it first powers up and where I store the headset it seems not to work okay after this. I have to perform a manual bias cal to get it nice and stable via the GUI.

Thanks had the same problem.

But i love the tracker.
Now if only ED would support mulple monitors instead of 1 big monitor i could build my cockpit.

I'm waiting for my 9150 and Pro Micro, so I can build a new tracker with wire to spread it out, put the 9150 ontop, and the Pro Micro down the side, so it's lower profile on my heeadset. My girlfriend game me the idea, she wants to make headphone covers, a sleeve like thing to cover the headband (a girly thing for sure). If I do it right, I can add a bit of padding around things so it balances it out.

Errm... not seen that here!? Mine's been powered up for best part of a week on occassion :-S !! I'll mention it to Rob...

Same here, I only get to play weekends now and the EDTracker is always exactly where I left it when I last finished with it .

Funny you should say that, my wife is in Amsterdam at the moment and I was playing E: D when she skyped me last night. First time I'd seen what others see in the little video thumbnail and your wife is correct 'cos I looked a right t#@t too :)

Weird stuff happens if I place it on it's side on the desk for long periods. I don't think it likes being long periods lying off center by 90 degrees. I started perching it upright against my joystick and now have a simple gangar/stand that holds it upright (I use opentrack and it's center keybind) and the EDTracker 9150 works for weeks without having to press the reset button.

I get the same problem. Its normally left on its side. Before I use it, have to leave it vertical and do another bias calc to reset it. No big deal really

I leave mine sitting on it's side on top of my PC for days on end - naturally when I get it ready for use, it needs a button press, but do you mean you're having to do gyro bias calc - a button press won't sort it, right? I'll bring it to Rob's attention next weekend, we're meeting up for a bit of a codeFest/buildFest on numerous things :)
