something in sol system 2 million ls from the inside

Come now the experience will make a voyager out of this commander for sure who knows maybe an exploerer later.
Perhaps even a bold pioneer.... =)

ETA: Man... I'm so glad I went to see it. When I was growing up I was a huge space geek. This actually brought a bit of a tear to my eye. SO worth the trip.

The problem is that Voyager's subsystems won't last until 3301. By about 2025, diminishing power and hydrazine levels will prevent further operation.

A computer that was built 7 years before Elite is still working 37 years later, and might function for a total of 50 years.

</totally awed by NASA>

50 years without maintenance, no less. Wish HP made printers that could last a tenth that long without issues...

Don't go there

I will have to go now and take a look, a year or so ago this was talked about in an ideas section on the forum, so it's good to see that they are implementing these ideas.

I would still like to see a worm hole however.

I made this trip - it's quite a trek ;)
Haven't seen the 2nd one yet though although the 1st one is actually at the place and distance it will be in the 34th century.
It's things like this that make this game great for astronomy and space travel nuts like me.

Off topic - if you jump to a nearby system from Sol (eg. Barnards Star), the star Aldeberan parallax shifts slightly against the background of the Hyades cluster which is in fact what would happen as Aldeberan is closer. Nice touch :)

Where is the damn thing? I've tried to find it twice no with no joy. There's certainly never anything in the left hand panel stating something 2 million Ls away!
