With all the negative respons...

I see so Much topics about negative respons and whining.
So my question is: what do you whiners about whining want?

We want you to quit whining and quit the game if you find it such a nuisance (or are they SC fanbois just trying to poison the community? *tinfoilhat*).

I see so Much negative respons and whining. People wanted stuff to do so FD Adds community goals, which i like. But People never get satisifed.

So my question is: what do you whiners want? Give me some real suggestions cause i fail to understand your never ending whining.

would just be Nice to know what People expect when ya'll say you want: real in game content. (ya'll just say planetary landings right)

For people to stop using the childish term 'whiners' would be a start.

I have a mind blowing, revolutionary solution - do not read whining topics.

My problem is not that I read them - I can take them, and when I don't I just don't look.

It just gives first impression that community is mostly whiners who don't even enjoy game a little.

Complainers are of benefit to FD as they represent a lot of what is in peoples heads.

Positive people also help FD as they give encouragement and state what is good and balance the complainers.

Do we really want a forum with opinion and if so should not negative as well as positive opinion be accepted.

ok on a more serious note - yes I can see that there are some troll/stupid topics here lately. But there are also ones from people that really really like the game, therefore they are upset and worried about some of the design decisions and they just trying to give the constructive criticism - and in my opinion there is nothing wrong with that.
If those people would not care about the game I can assure you that they will just drop it and move one by themselves without someone yelling at the - go play something else.

ok...here goes

The thing that has upset me is the fact that I spent 3 weeks getting money by hauling, then getting my dream ship Viper....then another 3 weeks of hauling and bounty work to get enough money to outfit my ship to A grade. My path was clear and upgrade planned. Only to find out that 1.1 upgrade changed the max power for an A3 power unit so my ship does not function (I scanned a ship and half my modules went off line!!!

Now I can't upgrade because A3 unit is limited to 12Mw I cant get the A FSD to extend my jump range or add A sensors. I have had to lower my spec to just fly! You can't limit the power limit so you cant have a "A" ship that does not works! My journey has been stopped...where do I go from here?

You need to mix and match a little. I had this buying a Viper. Went "A" Rated across the board and blew the fuses. I found a balance between weapons and utility slot items needs to be found. Use the EliteShipyard website to help you plan.

I think this was roughly my spec.

its the nature of the beast, those who are happy spend their time playing, those who are not spend their time complaining about it on the forums.

Not quite. Those who are not happy spend their time complaining on the forums (and so they should), but those who are happy are not playing, they are on here arguing with the "moaners" and in the process they fuel the fire of negative posts.

Or maybe, just maybe, these guys who the OP calls complainers aren't seeing the game through the rose tinted glasses of nostalgia?

Being an MMO it had to be a grindfest by nature... :D ;) :p

ED is not an MMO. If ED is an MMO then so is Farmville.

Please point me to a thread where people discuss the weaknesses in E: D game design. Most are just angry rants, flamebait fests and incessant whining & whinging. Usually with very agressive and rude language.

Maybe you're not familiar with the way the background sim works (or doesn't), but there are threads where players have put hundreds of hours into testing it, and have a dialogue with FD with regards to it. There are threads discussing why community goals was underwhelming and what could make it better. There are threads discussing how the initial gameplay is so compelling, but runs out of juice too soon, and what they think could be added to help this.

How you choose to perceive topics like this is up to you, and you do need to sift through some average threads, but that doesn't mean you should dismiss all of them based on this. Rather than assuming most threads are there to troll you, read them. Listen to what they're saying and rather than going on the defensive immediately, ask yourself if you can relate to what they're saying. But most of all, ask yourself if it makes sense logically. If you're arguing against logic because they mentioned WoW or EVE (and are therefore trolls to most here), then did you really help to create a more informed discussion? Defend something you enjoy by all means, but don't do it blindly, and not by generalising against anyone with a different opinion to your own.

OMG this thread is goldmine :O

I wasn't contesting this. I just asked you to give me some links to such threads, preferably to ones which don't start ranting/rude/whining.

Awww bless. Sugar, just because ED does not fit with what you think an MMO should be doesn not mean that ED is not an MMO.

Perhaps, but I think what he means is it doesn't really fit the traditional MMO mold. There's not really much else I can compare it to except the other Elite games.

Community goals don't actually add anything new to do, and if you want to see the endless stream of suggestions go to the suggestions sub-forum.

Or maybe we just want to see ED live up to its vast potential rather than just being a lifeless grindfest.

Been done to death, FD knows by now, if they deliver we shall see. A community grind is not very interesting.

People expect something substantial its not complicated, look at the community goal at yembo its almost an insult to our intelligence it is literally the simplest possible method of implementation and even then It wasn't thought out to any degree you'd be better asking what went right rather than what went wrong.

To be honest the only reason it was fun is it jammed so many players into one system that we all had something dynamic to do, (deal with other players not the community goal :p)

Just to summarise they convinced traders to run hundreds of runs to the same station, making less profit than anybody with a two way would actually make, with a competition automatically skewed towards bigger is better, with a miniscule reward, an enormous contribution requirement and a global reward that appears to make no sense (5% off fuel.. what?) all so that a station could "magically" appear instantly in a system, instead of being built like i'm pretty sure it was advertised.

Like honestly if yembo never happened, nobody would have noticed the difference, the only success in the whole thing was the traders who got excitement out of being pirated, the pirates that got to be lazy finding targets and the bounty hunters who knew where to find people for once. All 3 of these had nothing to do with the goal other than being herded to a particular system.

Add to this, the fact that a lot of features are broken/bugged or painful to use, and they seem to get less priority than implementing new idiotic things to do, like the useless community grinding. Seriously, FD, you are underestimating your audience. Wrong way to go. And 2 new ships won't help.

Hyperbole like this won't help a bit. It will only alienate potential new players. *sigh*
