I'm guessing one of them is prohibited, and that will get you fined, though it would be nice with a way to see the 'category' of rares so you'd know if they'd count under prohibited or such.

Some rares are illegal in some systems, and it says so in their descriptions. If there's one type of cargo you can't sell on the commodities market then it's illegal. Unfortunately the fine is set at the value of the commodity in that system, for rare goods at stations far from where you got them from that fine can be really high.

Imperial Slaves in Commodity Market : Fined for Illegal Cargo? My Error or Bug?

Hi there,

I've just updated to the latest patch tonight 1.105 I think it is.... please can someone tell me if I've made a stupid mistake or have I hit a bug?

I've just been fined.... wait for it: 4.2M credits for carrying Imperial Slaves into a station that is in the Empire, and has Med Demand in the Commodities market for Imperial Slaves.

Looking at the System Map it says that "Slaves" are prohibited, not "Imperial Slaves" - Is there a difference, I can't find clarity on this.

If there is a difference, then why do they even show up in the Commodities market? I did this trade run yesterday, no problem - and I'm sure I didn't go too quickly through the letterbox for the scanners to detect the cargo.

Any advice on this would be gratefully received. It's a lot of money for a fine and I've now got <24 hours to pay it.

Just in case I logged out and back in again, fine remains.

So... have I done something wrong? If I've been dumb then fair enough, but I ask again why are they showing in the Commodities market?

(Typical: Haven't touched slaves up until now... Sods Law as soon as I do this sort of thing happens!)

That's 2-3 days worth of game-play down the toilet... if opinion is that it is a bug then I'll ticket it to see if I can get my money credited back. I've taken screenshots etc.

Thanks very much.

James

If they were definitely IMPERIAL Slaves and not just "Slaves", and they are not listed as prohibited, then you have hit a rather expensive bug. I'd ticket it, but that won't help you with that fine... Maybe you'll get reimbursed if its confirmed though :/

EDIT: Would you be comfortable to post what station/system you were selling them at? Someone could attempt to reproduce it...

Hi Istaria,

Thanks for your reply, I will ticket it now and see what happens.

I don't mind sharing, I'm not that precious about it! :)

Rares Commodity Wolf Fesh fined!

Hello fellow CMDRs

I just started the game with the new patch an left Nicollier Hanger at Zeessze when I got scanned by the police.
I wasn`t worried about it since I never ever got a problem while I was on my rares route.
Then I got whopping 50397 credit fine!

I am guessing its because of my rares cargo 6t of finest Wolf Fesh from Wolf 1301.
Like I said, this has never happened before and I am guessing its a change of todays patch.

Server-side changes:
- Fix issue that was not always issuing fines when ships were scanned whilst carrying prohibited cargo

Before I just could not sell it at places it is considered illegal.
Anyone else experiencing the same?

If I add fines for wolf fesh to the wear and tear of my route then this time almost 10% of my hard earned money was consumed by that.

Something to smile for german football fans:
Yesterday I saw Horst Hrubesch in a Sidewinder.:D

Wolf Flesh is illegal in some systems, there are a few rares like that, so if you get scanned its the same as having any prohibited cargo in that system for example having slaves in a system where they are prohibited, you get scanned you get a penalty even if you purchased them legally.. the joys of smuggling :p

I think it depends on a couple things, you could have bought them at an imperial station (where they are legal) but are in a system with a different controlling faction where they are illegal. They are illegal in some
Imperial factions.

You sir could have been the victim of the future version of a speed trap

Sure, I got that, but I never got fined before. I just could not sell it.
If it has changed then this should be considered a heads up for other players.
The fine plus the reputation loss is not worth it.

Unless you are any good at silent running, which I am not....
The kamikaze landing maneuvers without active shields are very expensive :D

It clearly is an Empire fine in the screenshot. And the cargo hold there says 232 Imperial slaves.

Yes never had an issue but I see with the new patch today:

- Fix issue that was not always issuing fines when ships were scanned whilst carrying prohibited cargo

Perhaps this now effects rares?

Check the station itself in the system to see if they are legal or not.

You can have a Fed system with a Fed station, plus another factions station there too, and you could just have been unlucky wandering into an Empire sector into an Alliance / Independent station. (Shouldn't find Feds mixing with the scum bag Empire .. down with the Emperor !)

You need to be careful.................
They may be showing as you are carrying them.... but if you didn't have them in your hold they would not be for sale.
I think you are seeing them only due to carrying them in and they're the 'wrong type of slaves' for the station :-(
Hope i'm wrong and it's a bug but you'll know this if you sell them (most probably there for a loss) or somewhere else then fly back.
If they were 'allowed' at that station you will then see them on commodities without having to have them as 'your cargo'

232 is the hold quantity column.

When you say imperial slaves are not prohibited in the galaxy map, do you mean for that specific station that you're landing at?

If they're not prohibited at that specific station, then it sounds like a bug and hopefully ticketing it gets your cash back.

Thanks for posting, I'll take this as a warning..

4m fine for selling legal cargo.

Been running imperial slaves for a while to an indipendent station where they are legal. This last time I was scanned and given a 3,956,400 fine. I've completed well over 50 runs with no issues whatsoever and this has only occured after todays update.

To be clear, the station is indi, I can sell the imperial slaves on the standard market. My fine is specifically for this indi faction.

HALP!
