FD please fix the piracy issue. It is now ridiculous

Pirate/Criminal/Smuggler.....does not like being interdicted and a "victim"............check...... :D

He didn't get interdicted, you clearly misread what he has written (or simply didn't read it). he investigated a USS and was scanned by authorities waiting within.

Please fix the uk laws.

I had a truck full of illegal immigrants and on the way to smuggling them into the uk i stopped off at the supermarket., and then the local park. To my horror the police were at the park and started searchibg everyone as there had been a stabbing.

I lost all the immigrants and have to go to court.

This is insane. I should be able to cruise around with illegals in my truck.

Please fix this!!

Good analogy, have some rep :D

3. I try and boost away and super cruise out as I have slaves on board.
4. I have got no chance and I am given a 200,000cr fine.
200K fine means a LOT of slaves. You tried to smuggle and got caught. That's the way it goes.

As for the rest of your post, it reminds me of a quote: "Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?"

Sorry, but you can't have Donald Sutherland as Oddball out of Kelly's Heroes as your avatar and not expect THAT.

Getting scanned instantly is a bit like crashing into a station coming out of SC due to the short distance. Its not really well done. Being a "smuggler" you search USS'es a lot, and if you crash into authority ships doing so then that activity is not doable anymore. You get a couple of K's from a USS, but a 200K fine if a cop is there. Not really well placed.

Cops should sometimes be in USS'es for sure. I want more dynamics in USS'es. For example to sometimes have 1 or more pirates in those that have floating cargo and that you might have to fight them before scooping it up. Instead like it always been - floating cargo and no one but you there. That should stay, but sometimes there could be pirates or cops there. However they shouldnt always be right where you enter. Instead place them further away, enough distance so that if you arent alert you will get scanned rather quickly, but far away enough that you have a slim chance of getting away if you immediately turn and boost. Cops could also instantly come to check you out instead of just flying aimlessly around the cargo. You should see them turn towards you and then see them boost to get to you and check you out.

Lots can be done to give you a chance if you are alert, and have those USS'es a little more dynamic with more going on in them.

Who defines what is illegal and what not? Is Tobacco illegal? I know that some stations have certain commodities that they consider illegal. But I mean the cops. What is illegal to them? The station sells Imperial Slaves. The cops should close down the station? No?

I guess I had a similar incident. Bought 452 Imperial Slaves in a station. Just when I left the station I got fined for carrying illegal cargo! I did that a lot of of times before and nothing happend. Now I hava a fine of 7,421,220 CR. THAT IS REDICULOUS.
In the system map each station has listed what is prohibited 7M cred fine is really hard to take though

Serious? You got the fine at the same station you bought the slaves? You'd think that the cops occacionally docked in their own station, and maybe just checked what they're really selling...

Yep, exactly that. Bought them, got out, got scanned (obviously), got fined ... And I will pay ... And I will keep buying slaves ...

Hello Commanders!

We're looking at updating fines to reduce the extreme amounts you can get nailed for. The concept that we're going for is to allow authority vessels to "mark" cargo if they successfully detect it, effectively ruining your ability to sell it. At the same time, we'll be able to significantly soften and better control fines issued for smuggling.

On a related note, this also leaves the door open later on for services that can "clean" marked cargo, which I think is pretty cool.

Usual caveats: no guarantee or ETA, but we're pretty solidly behind this one.

I agree with the OP. The fine for murder should be much higher than the smuggling fine. It needs increasing to at least the rebuy of the victim's ship.

Hi Sandro cool will this marked cargo then be forced to a)go to a cleaning service and / or b) be forced to sell it on the black market

Hello Commander Dr. Dave Bowman!

If the police catch you smuggling and mark your cargo, you won't be able to sell it full stop, except perhaps for a nominal fee to a starport service. However, yes, we want to leave the door open for "cleaning" services.

Awesome I assume this mechanic wont be introduced untill the laundry ala mafia style is introduced also? Love this idea good stuff

Just a little tip for the OP since no one else has brought it up yet:

Use a chaff launcher, it interrupts scans long enough for you to get out of scanner range.
