HTC teams up with valve.

- 1200x1080 pixel per eye
- 90Hz
- audio jack
- inside out tracking for 15ft by 15ft room scale tracking
- custom controller (1 per hand) tracked in real space
- dev kit release in spring
- full version release by end of year.

VR just got real

HTC and Valve have partnered to take on Oculus.

"Each eye gets a 1200x1080-resolution display with 90 fps refresh rates. HTC stated that Vive "displays photorealistic imagery that fills your field of vision in all directions" and eliminates jitter."

"Content partners to help fuel the device are already being announced too. Google, HBO and Leionsgate are among some of the giants getting on board, but game developers such as Cloudhead Games, Dovetail Games and Fireproof Games also have VR games in the making."

Watching this again makes me wonder of the possibility we all could be already in VR but are not aware of it.

Sort of like the matrix but controlled by us, not by those AI life forms.

Great news for the VR community - more products, more choice, better development.....

But the only thing that worries me is that it could turn into a VHS or BETAMAX competition....(for those of us old enuff to remember that)....but I hope it doesn't

My wife just said "so I guess this is what you'll want for Xmas?"
I didn't have the heart to tell her Id probably have about 3 more VR sets by that point! :p
Still expecting oculus and NVIDIA to both release specs next week

Things just got "real" to quote my sons, I can't wait, this is really happening :D Awesome

Bring it on OR, we need a good VR fight!
