You see trees, not the forest. You thing that what FD is doing is fine because, as you wrote, you want FAST fixing.

Software developing is not just coding, fix bugs, coding, fix bugs. What I see in FD is a lack of IT project management. It's not "what" they are doing ( is fine to fix bugs ) it's "how" is done ( cycles too short, no proper testing )

ED project is too big to be handled like a small software. It's not my opinion, are just FACTS. How many "hot fixes" after patches? and how many patches in 2 months? They need to sit down and plan better for future patches/expansions.

FD also have to take into account business needs. They had to push out Wings ASAP, lack of reasonable multiplayer features at launch was a problem and guess what? Lots of people complained, so they just can't win. I suspect patches will start to slow down soon.

FD aren't perfect but overall I think they are doing a pretty good job, among other things they really are listening to their users and interacting with them.

Nice job Frontier.

One quick question to whoever read this...I press CTRL+ALT+Space but can't go into debug camera mode to see the ship from outside...Do I need to do anything else? Tried it in Private Group mode...not sure if it works only in Solo mode perhaps.

Thanks.

You need to bind a hot key in the Options, Controllers, Miscellaneous section

Guess you're not a software developer or you develop for entertainment business.

I'm a developer and I know the pain those coders are in. It's absolutely horrendous to try to sleep at night knowing you have LIVE code that isn't running right.
I don't program games, but it's is the same all over the industry these days: QA/Testing expenses is kept to a minimum. Anything else doesn't make sense, business-wise, because it is much more profitable to get the software out there and just fix the fire under your ass after the fact, than to go all forensic on the code first. I know this, but this trend is getting worse all over. (Just look at Destiny, GTA 5 Heist and BattleField 4 HardLine...)

This is so true. Money makes the software world turn, it may suck but you can't escape the facts of life.

you lot are amazin i tell you ....

so you're moaning about FD fixing the game now lol ... I'm almost speechless

No, just pointing out that there are ways of fixing stuff that doesn't have to involve the entire customer base every time.
Like I said earlier, I don't think it's a bad idea to keep Testing and Stable in two separate builds, even for commercial games.
Then those who subscribe to the Beta branch could get some extra freebies or something for their much valued work. Edit: Because in reality, QA/Testing *has* been moved to the customer, and then they even have *them* pay a premium for it. IMNSHO, this is *wrong*. crazybraziliantalkshowlaugtherguy.swf

So after the 1.2.03 or 1.2.04 patch we have lower fuel costs , lower repair bills (45k to repair my python from 3% hull) and much higher payouts from bounties and combat vouchers ? All I can say is "LOOKS LIKE MEATS BACK ON THE MENU BOYS (and girls) " !!!!!!

Loving it !!!

Can I just ask a question in here, if you play Solo, is there less chance for random disconnects/matchmaking errors, and are we done with the patching now for the weekend? The Launcher doesn't say much since 1.2, it could use some more up to date info..

Only reason I'm on the forum and not in the game is because i'm not up for getting another session broken up, actually. It's very immersion breaking, especially for us types who are more explorers/traders than PvP.
I bought the game 2-3 weeks ago and frankly, I haven't had many sessions unbroken by errors/updates. Actually I've considered abandoning it.
Yes I know, I'm a filthy casual, but I simply don't do beta/preorder stuff anymore. Got burnt too many times. It ain't right.

Another great patch constant game crashes and now i leave hyperspace and crash straight into the station and that 3 hrs game play for nothing and a loss of 319364 credits for nothing thanks really makes me want to play more. Yes i am putting in a ticket but i am not very hopeful. Ironically i love the game but if this keeps up i will ask for a refund and buy a ship for Alpha Star citizen. Also i run a high performance rig so it is not my P.C.

Might be something on your end then? I have never had a disconnect. Saying that I bet I will now.

Nah, I have a pretty tight network set up over here. I had one connection issue that I resolved by restarting the ISP router. But then my other network units also misbehaved, obviously.
I have several other applications that runs on 24/7. (IRC, cryptocurrency miners...)

How's the QoS?

"can't connect to server error". anybody else getting this?

now the button for "play" is reading "purchase". very strange!
