Ahh so I can only play open when at home and when staying in Hotels traveling for work etc with slow internet connections I can only play solo with a completely different character - no thanks. Solo mode is a lot more bad internet connection friendly and allows me to carry on playing from my laptop even on trains via 4G phone tie in why shouldn't I be able to play the same game as everyone else until I get home and can use my gaming PC and decent speed broadband in open?

Me three, Currently on a ship in the north sea with a dodgy 4G connection. As i have stated many times before, not every one playing Ed lives in a big city with superfast fibre broadband, can't even play now because I need to update and my dongle does not have enough data left.

Why can we not have the option of being able to download the updates from somewhere else other than the launcher page, that way I could download it on my ship's very slow satellite connection and then use a USB stick to transfer it onto my gaming computer, with the launcher validating it.

My system still has trading. I've done deep space runs in a sidewinder and netted 200k. I'm talking about independent/fed/anarchy etc systems, just not in the center of the empire. Solo play sounds like a huge waste.

Yeah, I REALLY like Solo play; barring the expected hiccups demanded by support for Multi play.

If Solo play was removed from the game I would be removed from the game. And there are very many more just like me.

Off to the merge thread with you!:D

Time to repost my wall of info due to a merge !!!!

From the Kickstarter;
*And the best part - you can do all this online with your friends, or other "Elite" pilots like yourself, or even alone. The choice is yours...*
*you will be able to control who else you might encounter in your game – perhaps limit it to just your friends? Cooperate on adventures or chase your friends down to get that booty. The game will work in a seamless, lobby-less way, with the ability to rendezvous with friends
*Play it your way*
Your reputation is affected by your personal choices. Play the game your way: dangerous pirate, famous explorer or notorious assassin - the choice is yours to make. Take on missions and affect the world around you, alone or with your friends.*
*You simply play the game, and depending on your configuration (your choice) *
*We have the concept of “groups”. They can be private groups just of your friends or open groups (that form part of the game) based on the play styles people prefer, and the rules in each can be different. Players will begin in the group “All” but can change groups at will,*

From the forum archives;
https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=6300

All Players Group– Players in this group will be matched with each other as much as possible to ensure as many human players can meet and play together
Private Group – Players in this group will only be matched with other players in the same private group
Solo Group – Players in this group won’t be matched with anyone else ever (effectively a private group with no one else invited)

Forums are for posting in, not reading or clicking links. This thread alone is absolute proof of that.

+1 For truth.

If some of these folks had done some reading, they'd have not bought a game they clearly were not going to like.
I hope other games consider using modes, I love being able to solo, so space feels large and empty, then jump over to a group when my friends are online.

It's 325 pages of the same argument over and over again. Do you realise how much time someone will need to read every post? It's bigger than some novels. ;)

If only the OP contained the answers along with the very pertinent quote by MB... ;)

Come, come, now, No one reads the cover before they buy the book. ;)

It's like one of those bad Star Trek episodes where they live the same day over and over again, starting with a poker game...

Players with bounties wasn't supposed to be forced to play OPEN ?
Other ways, why do we see them in Starport's news ?

If I can't interact with them, I don't want to know that they have a bounty on their head. Other ways, this would be all like this Isinona's videos series https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czqGrxujscg
Tracking a player during a month and not being able to see him.

This is how a "dynamic" world should evolve ?

That's nothing - I've patented a Solo Player Detector that works in Open mode powered purely by the users self-static electricity and mental concentration on what ship you'd like them to be in.

Works 100% of the time! For your free information booklet, please send a cheque for $99 to Combat Assymetric Strategic Holdings, CASH for short, and send to me :)
